Yusuf Dikec is a 51-year-old pistol shooter who competed for Turkey in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
During the competition, Dikec went viral for his nonchalant shooting stance. While many shooters wear specialized lenses or headphones, Dikec wears glasses, puts his hand in his pocket, and points his pistol at the target.
The simplistic approach worked, as Dikec and Sevval Ilayda Tarhan won the silver medal in mixed team 10-meter air pistol shooting. The silver marks Turkey’s first-ever medal in Olympic shooting.

Sweeden’s Armand “Mondo” Duplantis won the gold in the men’s pole vault at the Paris Olympics. Duplantis set the Olympic pole vault record by completing the 6.25-meter jump.
Duplantis paid tribute to Dikec by using the shooter’s trademark stance in his celebration.
