Ferrari Miami Livery

Formula 1 fans have almost unanimously ridiculed the Ferrari Miami livery after the much-anticipated one-off paint job reveal failed to live up to anticipation.

Ferrari have altered their iconic red livery ahead of this weekend’s Miami Grand Prix – with some less-than-favourable reviews.

Sporting the traditional red with flashes of white and blue, the car will have a different look when it takes to the track on Friday for free practice.

But while some like the new-look car, others have been left underwhelmed by the design choices.

One-off liveries are nothing new in Formula 1. Some of the best F1 liveries have been unique, single-use paint jobs that teams have introduced to celebrate a specific weekend.

Just this season, Haas and Red Bull used special liveries at the Japanese Grand Prix, with both being lauded as instant classics.

But it’s not often that the striking all-red Ferrari gets a makeover.

So when the team posted images of their white and blue race suits for the Miami Grand Prix, fans were quick to speculate on what this year’s special livery might look like.

All white with hints of blue? Blue with a bit of white? The Tifosi were eagerly awaiting something special for the Scuderia ahead of this weekend.

But while drivers Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc might be sporting an eye-catching new look, the cars they’ll be driving barely look any different.

The Ferrari Miami livery for 2025 sees a mostly red car with a white and blue engine cover and front wing.

Fans have been quick to criticise the half-hearted changes, suggesting that the team are more concerned with pleasing sponsor HP than in delivering a good-looking one-off livery design.

The replies to Ferrari’s unveiling have been overwhelmingly negative, with near unanimous disappointment.

One Twitter (now X) user said: “Absolutely awful, I know driven by sponsorship but the car livery is awful.

“The drives clothes are great, but this is a half take over by Williams!”

Another added: “This is the least attractive livery I’ve seen in Formula 1 since I started following it eight years ago.”

And a third disgruntled fan simply said: “Wow this is terrible.”

Ferrari One Of Three Teams Running Special Miami Liveries

While Ferrari’s one-off Miami colour-scheme may not have gone down well with fans, other teams appear to have done a better job at pleasing the masses.

Both Racing Bulls and Sauber are also running fresh liveries for the Miami Grand Prix.

Sauber and RB have also opted to run one-off liveries in Miami.

One fan replied to Sauber’s social media reveal, saying: “I think you guys should use this livery for every race. This looks better than before.”

Meanwhile, Racing Bulls’ pink makeover had plenty of admirers.

“Now THAT is what you call a special livery,” read one comment.

Another even tagged Ferrari to tell them whose livery they preferred, saying: “@ScuderiaFerrari TAKE NOTES.”

This weekend’s Miami Grand Prix weekend gets underway on Friday, with the free practice starting at 17:30 BST.

The Sprint race will start at 17:00 on Saturday, followed by qualifying at 21:00 and the Grand Prix at 21:00 on Sunday night.
