Racing League-2025 Guide

Love it or hate it – the Racing League 2025 is back for another summer campaign as the UK horse racing competition returns for a fifth year – but just how will the 2025 Racing League work? We give you the answers, from the teams, dates, TV coverage, fixtures, points and the format in our Racing League 2025 guide.

Racing League Returns For A Fifth Year In 2025

Last year the Jamie Osborne-led Wales and the West team won the 2024 Racing League with 869 points and will be back in 2025 to try and defend their title.

The Welsh horse racing team saw off ‘The East’ by 96.5 points at the line – which saw Jamie’s daughter Saffie Osborne riding a Southwell treble at the final fixture to help secure the win.

Saffie Osborne has also been the Racing League top jockey for the last three seasons – banking £20k in the process.

This win for Wales and the West followed-up their 2022 Racing League success and are sure to be well-fancied with the horse racing betting sites for another title.

Meaning each race will have a field of 14 runners – baring Wolverhampton where the maximum runners will be 13.

All the races are handicap class – over a range of grades.

While Racing League race distances will vary with the opening 2025 fixture at Yarmouth seeing races from 5f to 1m6f.

To give you an idea of prize money – the opening three races at Yarmouth are worth £18,039 to the winner.

Three are at £25,770, while the final race sees £38,655 of prize money to the winning connections.

In addition to the prize money on each race, there is extra Racing League cash on offer.

  • £35,000 – Split Between Winning Team Jockeys
  • £20,000 – For Top Overall Jockey

What Is The Racing League Joker?

In an added twist each team manager can also play a Racing League joker.

These can be played in two of the 42 Racing League races that have at least 12 runners (or 11 horses if at Wolverhampton).

These jokers are worth double points for the two horses representing that team in the race.
