Charley Hull Ties Most Runner-Up Finishes In Majors Since 2015
Charley Hull, whose net worth has passed £6.5m recently, is one of the most popular golfers in the world right now.
As well as being a fan-favorite, the English golf professional is also one of the best players in the world on the LPGA Tour. She currently sits inside the top 20 in the official world rankings, but was as high as eighth at one stage.
She has won seven LPGA Tour and Ladies European Tour titles throughout her career, but has also has plenty of near misses too.
The 29-year-old has had ten top 10s in major championships over the years, winning none as of yet. However, golf betting sites still list Hull as one of the pre-tournament favourites almost every time she’s in action.
Of these ten top 10 finishes at majors, four of them have been runner-up finishes. This now ties for the most runner-up finishes in major championships since 2015.
Hull has joined career Grand Slam winner Rory McIlroy, five-time major champion Brooks Koepka and major winner Justin Rose with the tied most second place finishes at majors in the last decade.
Hull’s most recent runner-up finish in a major came at the 2025 AIG Women’s Open, where she finished in a tie for second behind eventual winner Miya Yamashita. Hull finished on -9 par, two shots behind the champion on -11.

What Majors Has Charley Hull Come Second In?
Charley Hull’s boyfriend sees his partner as a winner off the golf course, despite her several near missed and agonising runner-up finishes in majors on the course.
The first major championship Hull finishes runner-up in was at the 2016 Chevron Championship. The popular English golfer finished just one shot behind Lydia Ko on that occasion, despite her final round of 69.
Hull’s performances in majors somewhat dipped after that, with her next runner-up finish at a major coming seven years later in 2023.
In fact, the Kettering-born golf star has two runner-up finishes in majors in 2023 alone. First was her second place finish the US Women’s Open, where Hull carded a final round of 66 to finish in a tie for second, three shots behind the winner Allisen Corpuz.
Just months later, the 29-year-old finished in solo second at the Women’s British Open on -8 par. This was a heart-breaking runner-up finish for Hull, who led the tournament after 54-holes before carding a disappointing final round of 73 while Lilia Vu shot a 67 to win by six strokes on -14 par.
Then came Hull’s second place in August this year at the AIG Women’s Open again. This means she now has four seconds in the past decade at majors, making her the tied most runner-up finishes in major championships since 2015.
Although there have been plenty of near misses for Charley Hull, she has also won multiple tournaments. A major championship surely awaits for the popular English golfer, who has all the ability and talent to get the job done on golf’s biggest stage.
With the Charley Hull next tournament expected to be the Portland Classic in the middle of August.
