Rampage Jackson Comments on Raja Jackson Attack on Syko Stu

Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has expressed regret over the incident involving his son, Raja Jackson, and professional wrestler Stuart Smith, aka Syko Stu.

Jackson condemned his son’s attack on Stu, wishing he could have been there to prevent it.

Raja Jackson Attacked Syko Stu in an Event in Los Angeles

On August 23, Raja Jackson attacked wrestler Syko Stu during a match at a KnokX Pro Wrestling event. Jackson, an MMA fighter, brought Stu down with a body slam, which supposedly knocked him unconscious. Jackson, however, did not stop, continuing to unload on him.

Jackson had landed over 20 punches before other wrestlers intervened and pulled him away. Stu was rushed to the hospital with facial injuries and broken teeth.

According to reports, it was fueled by an altercation Jackson had with Stu earlier that day. Mistaking Jackson for a different wrestler, Stu hurled a beer can, striking him. It was reportedly a scripted exchange, which was supposed to set them up for a small spot.

Rampage Jackson Deeply Regrets Son’s Attack

Speaking on his Kick podcast, Rampage Jackson said he did not support his son Raja Jackson’s actions. However, as a father, he was in his corner.

I feel bad about what happened to Syko Stu,” he said (via WrestlePurists).

I don’t condone what my son did at all. I’m a father, so I gotta have my son’s back, but I’m gonna let justice play out and take its course. Ain’t much I can do on that side but be a father.

This s**t put me in a bad mood. I feel bad about Syko Stu and his family. His family had to see that s**t. I just wish I could’ve been there, but I couldn’t, —Hopefully one day I can meet Syko Stu and shake his hand and have a man-to-man with him… Y’all need to know that I don’t condone Raja’s conduct, and I hope Syko Stu can forgive me as a dad for not understanding everything.”

Before expressing regret on Kick, Rampage defended his son on X (Twitter). He explained that Raja had recently suffered a concussion and should not have been involved in anything physical. According to the UFC 71 winner, it was a scripted spot that went terribly wrong.

TMZ has reported Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) are investigating the matter. LAPD arrived at the scene after the attack and registered a report. As for Stu, he is supposedly fine and recovering.
