The biggest golf team event is almost upon us and when it comes to the USA team – much of the focus will be this year’s Open winner Mr Scheffler. So, with the in mind we look at the Scottie Scheffler Ryder Cup record, his bogey player in the singles and the format the world number one has liked the most.
Scottie Scheffler Ryder Cup Record As World Number One Makes Third Appearance
Despite being the world number one golfer heading into Bethpage, Scottie Scheffler still has some way to go to match the Rory McIlroy Ryder Cup record – as the Northern Irishman will be making his eighth appearance in 2025.
Whereas Scheffler has only appeared in two previous Ryder Cups – with the 2025 renewal being just his third.
In 2021 at Whistling Straits, believe it or not – he was also a Captain’s Pick, so this also shows you how far Scheffler has come in the last four years.
Since that debut Ryder Cup, he’s won four Major titles (Masters x 2, Open and PGA Championship).
At the last Ryder Cup in 2023 Scottie Scheffler qualified – but ended up on the losing team with Europe recording an easy 16.5pts-11.5pts win over the USA.
Having won at Whistling Straits though, this means the Scottie Scheffler Ryder Cup record stands at one win, one loss.
The best golf betting sites, however, think he can add a second victory – with the USA team favourites to win in 2025.

Scottie Scheffler Ryder Cup Record By Format – He’s Yet To Win a Foursomes
With the 2025 Ryder Cup format seeing eight foursomes matches on both Friday and Saturday morning – a word of caution when it comes to Scottie Scheffler’s Ryder Cup record.
He’s yet to win a foursomes match at the Ryder Cup.
He’s played in two and lost both times – being defeated by Rahm/Hatton and Aberg/Hovland each at Marco Simone.
However, he’s got a better record in the four-balls – with three matches and taking an undefeated (1 win, 2 ties) record into 2025.

No Wins For Scottie Scheffler At Last Year’s Ryder Cup
The other big takeout when looking at the Scottie Scheffler’s Ryder Cup record and stats – is that the two-time Masters champion failed to win a match at the event last time.
Yes, he fired in two ties – one in the singles against fellow big hitter Jon Rahm and the other in a four-balls match when teaming up with Brooks Koepka, who hasn’t made the US squad this time.
Being fairly wet behind the ears when it comes to the Ryder Cup, Scheffler is also only 49th on the US all-time points list.
With Phil Mickelson on 21.5pts and Lanny Watkins on 18.5 points leading the way.

Scottie Scheffler Has Faced Jon Rahm In The Singles At The Last Two Ryder Cups
The other interesting stat is that Scottie Scheffler is yet to face anyone other than Jon Rahm in the Ryder Cup singles.
Scheffler and Rahm have faced-off twice now at the event and the American is yet to lose against the Spaniard.
Scheffler saw off Rahm 4-3 at Whistling Straits in 2021 and last year at Marco Simone they tied (see below).
The reason why they’ve probably met twice in the last two Ryder Cups, is each team captain tends to put out their best players at at the start of the singles – in the hope of getting some early points on the board.
Which can often lead to some monster opening clashes on Ryder Cup singles day.
