Super-middleweight contender Hamzah Sheeraz teased a huge fight next with ‘big news’ coming soon.
Sheeraz destroyed Edgar Berlanga last time out, and is now eyeing even bigger fights going forward as he builds towards a world title shot.
Hamzah Sheeraz Teases Huge Fight With ‘Big News’ Coming Soon
After knocking out Edgar Berlanga on his super-middleweight debut last time out, Hamzah Sheeraz is eyes some mammoth fights in the next few months.
The 26-year-old brutally stopped Berlanga inside five rounds back in July, which was his first fight since his controversial draw with WBC World Middleweight Champion Carlos Adames in Riyadh back in February.
After moving up to 168-pounds, Sheeraz has looked ferocious. Now working under the tutelage of Andy Lee, Sheeraz has his sights set on world title belts at super-middleweight.
Of course, a certain Terence Crawford currently holds all recognised world titles after defeat ‘Canelo’, but those belts will likely fragment early next year.
Terence Crawford’s next fight will likely take months to get made, especially if it is to be a rematch with ‘Canelo’. If not and ‘Bud’ opts for something else, then the super-middleweight world titles could become vacant.
When the do, Sheeraz will be in pole position to fight for one of the vacant belts. However, before that, Sheeraz has teased a huge fight with ‘big news’ coming soon.
The 22-0-1 Slough-based fighter is excited at his next fight, and has revealed that ‘boxing fans will love this one’ when his next fight is officially announced.
“Big news to come in the next few weeks. I’m sure boxing fans will love this one,” Sheeraz told the Ring Magazine.
What this ‘big news’ is remains to be seen, but it seems that Hamzah Sheeraz’s next move is sure to be something rather eye-catching.

Who Will Hamzah Sheeraz’s Next Fight Be Against?
As of today, there has been no official confirmation as to who Hamzah Sheeraz’s next fight will be against.
That being said, several names have bene thrown about as potential opponents for Sheeraz next. The likes of ‘Canelo’ has been mentioned, however this is extremely unlikely given the Mexican is underdoing elbow surgery following an injury.
The undisputed fight against Terence Crawford is also a possibility, but seems unlikely at this stage. Crawford has hinted that he will continue to fight, but probably won’t be back in the ring until next summer.
One name that has been mentioned and is gathering some momentum is that of Jermall Charlo. The American recently returned after a two year absence, extending his unbeaten record to a perfect 34-0.
Charlo is of course a two-weight world champion having captured belts at both super-welterweight and middleweight, before now campaigning up at 168-pounds.
Sheeraz vs Charlo in a final eliminator for one of Crawford’s world titles is a true mega-fight. If it is Charlo who Sheeraz is facing next, he isn’t wrong with it being ‘big news’ and one that ‘boxing fans will love’.
At 35-years-old, Charlo is perhaps there for the taking. His inactivity and out of the ring antics won’t have helped, with Sheeraz seemingly not even at his prime yet at just 26-years-old.
There has been no official announcement on Hamzah Sheeraz’s next fight, but that is sure to come in the next few weeks.
Many boxing fans feel Sheeraz is Britain’s best fighter in the pound-for-pound boxing rankings, despite never winning a world title. Again, some feel he is a world champion in waiting and could dominate at 168-pounds in years to come.
