The new jumps season proper is almost here folks – with the Cheltenham Showcase Meeting later this month – so to get the ‘pulses racing’ SportsCasting have spoken exclusively to the Gary and Josh Moore yard to get FIVE horses to follow for the new National Hunt campaign ahead.
Gary and Josh Moore FIVE Horses To Follow: 2025/26 Jumps Season
The multiple purpose Gary Moore yard is a favourite with punters all-year-round – with runners on both the flat and over the jumps on most days of the year.
With racing running through all of the Moore family – they are one of the most popular horse racing outfits in Britain.
Gary’s son Ryan is one of the best flat jockeys in the world – having won most of the Group One races around the globe.
And this jockey bloodline is set to continue with Toby Moore – as Ryan’s son is set to partner a Godolphin filly at Kempton this week.
Gary has since hooked-up with another of his sons – former jump jockey Josh – to add his name to his training license.
While recently retired rider Jamie Moore is also a big cog in the Moore training wheel.
Not to mention Gary’s daughter Hayley, who splits her time between presenting on Sky Sports Racing and helping out at the yard.
Oh, and also Gary’s wife, Jayne – who keeps everyone in check at the Cisswood stables, which is 20 miles north of Brighton.
Top Point-to-Point jockey George Gorman is also a huge part of the team – a pundit on the popular Final Furlong podcast – who knows a thing or two about horses and picking winners.
So, with that in mind, Andy Newton tapped-up George, Gary and Josh to give SportsCasting and exclusive.
Revealing FIVE horses from their yard to follow for the up-coming jumps season (2025/26).
Will the next Sire de Grugy be in this bunch?
The Bellhop
Looked promising at Sandown on debut on the flat but was always going to be a chaser long term.
Dotted-up in Juvenile Hurdle at Fontwell recently by 11 lengths – in a race that was previously won by Botox Has.
We think there is plenty of fun to be had this year with this 3 year-old but will be even better with a fence.
Le Tiep’s Sacre
Placed third in Auteuil behind a subsequent winner a year ago (Oct 24) and came to us after that back in January.
Made his debut at Sandown for us in February – jumping the last in front that day, but a mistake cost him and eventually came third.
But was only beaten 2 3/4 lengths and the form looks good with the second winning since.
This was confirmed next time, when Le Tiep’s Sacre won at Fontwell in March and has done very well over the summer.
The second in that Fontwell race – the Harry Fry-trained Walk On High – has also given the form a huge boost by winning twice since.
Hopefully an exciting season ahead for this 4 year-old French-bred.
Risk It All
Winner in France back in August 2024 and then came to us later that year.
Ran well to be third at the Kempton Christmas Meeting last year (27th Dec) – beaten only 3 3/4 lengths but also ran green.
Was a beaten odds-on favourite next time at Plumpton, which was disappointing and ended last season running down the field at Sandown – but is better than that.
Has had a wind-op now too and has certainly strengthened up for a summer at grass.
Part-owned by Harry Redknapp – so we’ll be hoping to hit the ‘back of the net’ this season with this 4 year-old.
Macktoad
Winner over 1m3f on debut in Vichy for French trainer Alain Couetil.
Looks every bit a National Hunt horse and pleasing in his work and schooling.
Certainly one to look out for and then add to your trackers once the season hots-up.
Lylian
Placed on the flat and over hurdles before winning by seven lengths on chase debut in Dieppe.
Looked very buzzy over there and began this way with us at Cisswood.
However, has settled right down now and will hopefully bring about improvement.
