Ascot Tips On Saturday at Champions Day 2025

This weekend’s Champions Day card sees a star-studded cast heading to the Berkshire track and many Ascot Saturday tips will focus around three big-fancied Godolphin runners – hoping to make it a ‘Blue Day’ for the bookies.

With two potential odds-on shots in the opening races at Champions Day – the best horse racing betting sites could be running for cover if they both win.

The action gets going at 12:55pm with the Long Distance Cup and with Godolphin’s Trawlerman already looking the ‘banker’ of the meeting – many punters will be making him one of their big Ascot Saturday tips.

He won the race back in 2023 too and will only face four other rivals – including stablemate Sweet William, who he’s beaten four times already in his career.

If he wins, the next big Godolphin hope will come just 35 minutes later in the 1:30pm Two-Year-Old Conditions race – a new contest at the meeting this year.

Words Of Truth is their main player here – having won his last three starts, including impressing last time in the G2 Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury.

He’s already a course and distance winner at Ascot too – winning at the track back in July – and is 3-3 now since being gelded.

A double on these first two Godolphin runners will pay around 7/4.

The Godolphin Ascot Saturday tips will then move onto the Champion Stakes (4:05pm), where Juddmonte International winner Ombudsman is another big ‘boys in blue’ fancy.

This 4 year-old is the top-rated in the field and was a tidy winner at the track when landing the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot in June (watch below).

He slammed one of his main rivals Delacroix last time out at York and many feel it will be more of the same on Saturday.

But those against him might look to his wider draw (9), with six of the last nine winners hailing from gates 5 or lower.

Regardless of whether you are with or against Ombudsman – should the first two Godolphin hot-pots land – the bookies will be certainly fearing a third here.

A treble on all three will pay around 6/1 (see below), but these odds will fluctuate as race day draws nearer.

Boost Winnings With Another Godolphin Ascot Saturday Tip

Oh, and if you are feeling particularly ‘Blue’ on Saturday – Godolphin have got another runner in the final race – the Balmoral Handicap (4:40pm) – with Fifth Column.

Like Ombudsman, this Godolphin horse is trained by the Gosden yard – who have had five second in this final Ascot Champions Day race.

He’s not unfancied in the market either at 6/1 – which would boost a Godolphin four-timer acca to a mega 48/1.

Meaning a £5 acca on these four horses will pay £248 (see below).
