It’s back over the sticks at the versatile Sunbury-On-Thames track on Sunday and Andy Newton is on hand with his Kempton horse racing tips and quickfire 1-2-3 best bets for ALL seven races.Â
Kempton Horse Racing Tips: Sunday 19th October 2025
Jump racing returns to Kempton Park this Sunday, with a seven-race card that gets under starter’s orders at 1:46pm with a Novices’ Handicap Hurdle.
The afternoon continues with six more races that are headlined by the Listed Copybet Hurdle at 3:50pm, where the winner of the last two runnings Rubaud is back again.

The Paul Nicholls-trained Roadshow was a good winner at Sedgefield last time out and has to enter calculations – despite being 8lbs worse off here.
Graecia and Jet Of Dreams are the only other two last time out winners in the field and command respect too.
But the call is HIGH COURT JUDGE for the in-form James Owen.
This 5 year-old is a fair 75+ rated flat performer but has only had five starts over hurdles – winning once.
That came in a Novice Hurdle back in May under Ben Bromley, who rides again here.
He’s fit from the flat (last run just 13 days ago) and will be more than at home on this quick jumping ground.

Iskar d’Airy comes here on a three-timer, but his last run was around five months ago and is also up 7lbs from his last win.
The Jonjo O’Neill yard are not in the best of form (0-16) – so their Sayva is overlooked.
In contrast, the Emma Lavelle and Jamie Snowden stables are going well at the moment. Lavelle runs Bluey, who will also have the in-form Ben Jones riding.
She’s got a big chance and the one to beat with the money coming for her in the market.
But the Snowden runner OBESSEDWITHYOU caught the eye when winning at Sedgefield earlier this month – and might just be the better value.
Up 6lbs looks fair and despite this being a rise in grade, we know she’s in form and looks worth sticking with for a yard that are in great order.

Not much to go on here – with three of the five runners having their hurdles debut and Banksman pulled up last time out.
That said, Mister Knockout, Premier and Mystical Mabel are all former flat performer so are certainly no strangers to the track.
Premier is 70-rated on the level, so if translating that to the jumps would be interesting – especially getting 10lbs of the likely main player here ONE HORSE TOWN.Â
This Harry Derham runner was also rated in the low 70’s on the level but has won twice over hurdles and gets the nod.
As a result of his wins, he’s got to give weight away, which won’t be easy – but that experience should count for a lot and the yard also boast a useful 25% SR here with their hurdlers.

The Joe Tizzard-trained Bourbali won this race last year and this has clearly been the target again.
He’s back rated only a pound higher, loves this good ground and looks a big player to follow up.
Rare Edition is a course winner too and with the Charlie Longsdon team in fine fettle he’s interesting too.
But BAD is the final proven course winner at the track and gets the verdict.
In fact, he’s 2-2 here at the Sunbury-On-Thames venue after wins last February and March – he’s only rated 4lbs higher than the last of those.
He’s also a horse that’s gone well fresh in the past, jockey Ben Jones is riding very well at present and the Pauling yard boast a lovely 36% SR with their chasers here.

The main race on the afternoon only has four runners – but to jumping fans they are all familiar names.
With the versatile Kihavah, who was second in this race last year, Gale Mahler, Burdett Road and Rubaud in action.
Burdett Road has been kept busy on the level this season but has failed to mark a mark – albeit at Group and Listed level.
Over the sticks last year, he managed to pick up second in that crazy Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival that saw both Constitution Hill and State Man fall.
Plus was a nice winner of the Greatwood Hurdle at the Cheltenham November meeting last season – but that remains his last win.
Meaning he’s on a bit of a recovery mission but on a plus the James Owen yard are in form and he’s only three to beat at the top-rated and also getting 2lbs off Rubaud.
But RUBAUD is a horse that loves it here at Kempton and has won this prize for the last two seasons.
He didn’t quite cut the mustard over fences last season (one win), so reverting back to hurdles looks a good move for now.
He’s also coming here having had a wind operation, but goes well fresh and is taken to win this race for a third time for Paul Nicholls and Harry Cobden.

Another race with several chances.
Muskoka represents the in-form Emma Lavelle yard but is back from a 155-day break and also unseated when last seen back in May.
Another stable going okay at the moment is James Owen and they run Jubilant, who will be fitter than most after a recent third at Warwick.
But SAFE DESTINATION did us a favour last Sunday when winning at Chepstow and looks worth sticking with.
He escapes a penalty for that win as it came in a conditional jockeys’ race – no claimer riding this time though, so is 6lbs worse off.
But Sam Twiston-Davies takes over and with the stable amongst the winners again last midweek this is a further plus.

Paul Nicholls teams up with daughter Olive here with Him Malaya, who is back from a 179-day break – and the pair also won this race in 2023.
However, another stable that have form in this race is Emma Lavelle – they took the pot 12 months ago.
They try again with GOLD LINK and it’s interesting that despite Paul Nicholls having a runner here, jockey Harry Cobden is on this 9 year-old.
He’ll be fitter after a second at Fontwell last month and is only 4lbs higher than his last win.
Of the rest, as already mentioned James Owen and Charlie Longsdon have been going okay in recent weeks.
So their Lunar Power and Ikigai Star are others to note in the betting.
