As it stands there might be up to TEN past Cheltenham winners from the fixture in 2024 that will be strutting their stuff again in 2025.

With the Cheltenham November meeting also being shown LIVE on the ITV Racing schedule across the three days.

Cheltenham November Meeting 2025: Past Winners That Could Run Again in 2025

Friday 14th November 2025

DOUBLE POWERFUL (2:20pm, Novices’ Chase)

This Neil Mulholland-trained 6 year-old is also entered in Sunday’s 1:45pm at the meeting – so we’ll have to see where he ends up.

The yard is in good form at the moment and this consistent 6 year-old was a solid third here at the October Meeting last month on his chasing debut.

He was only beaten 2 1/2 lengths behind Zurich that day and should be better for the run as it came off almost seven months away from the track.

Double Powerful is also a course winner here over hurdles. Winning the Lycetts Insurance Brokers Conditional Jockeys Handicap Hurdle at his fixture 12 months ago.

JONBON (2:55pm Shloer Chase)

This prolific chaser from the Nicky Henderson yard will be back to try and win the Shloer Chase on the opening day of the 2025 Cheltenham November Meeting.

Aged 9, Jonbon has in fact won the last two renewals of this Grade 2 Chase and despite having to give a bit of weight away, is the clear top-rated in the field (168).

Jonbon will head into the race having won 13 of his 17 chase starts and is yet to finish out of the first two over fences.

But those looking to take him on will look back to his Champion Chase defeat at the Cheltenham Festival in March – making a few jumping errors.

Plus, was also beaten at odds-on last time in the Celebration Chase at Sandown in April.

A win here though will take Jonbon’s total prize money to over £1.4m.

Oh, and did you know? Jonbon has won first time out for the past FOUR seasons.

L’EAU DU SUD (2:55pm Shloer Chase)

Another past Cheltenham winner from last season at this meeting.

He won the Arkle Trial on the Saturday (watch below).

Will be taking on Jonbon and on the ratings has 13lbs to find with last year’s winner of this race. But only gets 3lbs off the Henderson horse.

The Dan Skelton team could not be in much better form heading into this week’s November Meeting and despite a 223-day break is a horse that won first time out last season.

The betting suggests he’s next best after Jonbon, so any mishaps from the big favourite and this 7 year-old could be the one to take advantage.

FORTUNE DE MER (4:00, Novices’ Handicap Hurdle)

Another from the in-form Dan Skelton yard that won at this meeting 12 months ago.

He landed the NH Flat race on the Sunday – the final contest of the three-day meeting.

The horse went on to run in the Champion Bumper at the Festival. But was only 14th (of 17), behind Bambino Fever.

This 5 year-old has since switched to hurdles and got off the mark for the first time at the October Meeting here – winning by a short-head.

He drifted dramatically in the betting that day too.

Going from 3/1 out to 14/1, but defied the odds to make it 2-from-3 here at Prestbury Park.

At the moment he’s entered in the 4pm Novices’ Handicap Hurdle on Friday. In what will be his first run in a handicap.

Saturday 15th November 2025

TRANSMISSION (1:10pm, Amateur Jockeys’ Handicap Chase)

Is also entered in the 2:55pm on Sunday, so is another we’ll have to see where he ends up.

But took this race on the Saturday last season and could be back for more.

Had top amateur rider Patrick Mullins doing the steering last year and is now rated only one pound higher.

Hasn’t won a race since taking this though.

But did run well (2nd) at the December Meeting and was 5th to the classy Haiti Couleurs in the NH Chase at the Festival in March.

A recent run at the October Meeting (12th of 18) would have blown the cobwebs away and been dropped 2lbs from that outing too.

In the past, has taken a race or two to get going.

Suggesting this could be the time to catch him now he’s had a return run.

BURDETT ROAD (1:45, Arkle Trial)

Classy hurdler from the James Owen camp that ended up taking silver in that dramatic Champion Hurdle at the Festival last season.

But before that was a top winner of Sunday’s Greatwood Hurdle at this meeting last season (watch below).

Which was actually the last time he’s had his head in front.

Since then, he’s raced seven times (flat and hurdles) without success and was last seen running second to Rubaud at Kempton.

Is trying a new discipline this week though – as will be over fences for the first time in the Arkle Trial.

But does seem to like it here at Cheltenham, where he’ll bring a 1-2-1-2 record with him.

IL RIDOTO (2:20pm, Paddy Power Gold Cup)

Trainer Paul Nicholls has won the Paddy Power Gold Cup four times – including in the last two seasons.

The most recent came with Il Ridoto in 2024.

Who will be back for more and looking to be the first ‘back-to-back’ winner since Bradbury Star 31 years ago.

This will also be Il Ridoto’s fourth run in the race. Having been 4th in 2022 and 3rd in 2023 as well.

He’s back rated just a pound higher than last year and has been freshened up with a solid 2nd at Chepstow in October.

This would have been the target again.

And the betting suggests he’ll be one of the big Paddy Power Gold Cup runners again this year.

MATATA (2:20pm, Paddy Power Gold Cup)

Might end up in the Paddy Power Gold Cup, but also has an entry in the Shloer Chase on Friday against Jonbon.

The Nigel Twiston-Davies team have won the Gold Cup four times in the past. With their first Tipping Tim in 1992 and most recent Splash Of Ginge in 2017.

This 7 year-old ran below par here last month, when only 7th behind Calico. But did win a handicap chase at this meeting last year.

He took that race rated 150, but is now off a mark of 157, so another step forward is very much needed if the NTD camp are going to get their fifth win in this race.

HAMSIYANN (3:30pm, Intermediate Handicap Hurdle)

This Tony Martin-trained 5 year-old took this same race last year and could be back for more.

He’s rated 10lbs higher this time though and has been winless from five runs since.

On a plus, he should be fitter than most after a spin on the flat last month at Galway.

And also did win well in this last year (won by 2 1/2 lengths) to suggest he could be up to defying the 10lb rise.

Sunday 16th November 2025

TRIPLE TRADE (2:20pm, Handicap Chase)

Okay, slightly cheating with this one – as he didn’t win at this meeting last year.

But he did in 2023 – winning this very race.

He won that year off a mark of 130 and is now rated 123. So this Tizzrd runner is 7lbs lower and certainly well-handicapped if finding that level of form again.

But is now nine races without a success and that last win came back in December 2023 – almost two years ago, so has a bit to find.
