Some Liverpool fans have called for Arne Slot’s sacking after their humiliating 4-1 defeat to PSV Eindhoven at Anfield on Wednesday night.
The shocking loss in the Champions League comes days after the Reds lost 3-0 at home to Nottingham Forest last weekend.
As a result, Arne Slot’s side are now in 12th place in both the Champions League and the Premier League tables.
Liverpool’s dreadful league run has placed their title defence among the worst in Premier League history after 12 rounds.
This has also seen the bookmakers push their odds on winning both competitions out.
Liverpool are now 28/1 to win the Premier League and 12/1 in the outright Champions League betting odds market.
Liverpool are on their worst run in 71 years
Liverpool enjoyed a strong start to the 2025/26 season, winning their first seven games in all competitions. Although their performances were underwhelming by their lofty standards, fans backed Arne Slot to sort out the issues.
Their confidence in the manager has taken a hit over the last two months.
Liverpool have lost nine of their previous 12 matches in all competitions (W 3) and are on a three-game losing run.
At Anfield, they have conceded seven goals in their last two matches, scoring just one.
Following the 4-1 defeat to PSV, the Reds are in the midst of their worst run in 71 years.
They last lost nine games (from 12) in the 1953/54 season under Don Welsh.
And Liverpool have not lost by a margin of three or more goals in three consecutive matches since December 1953.
Fans want Arne Slot sacked after PSV defeat
Following Liverpool’s defeat to PSV, some fans on X (formerly Twitter) have called for the club to sack Arne Slot.
Renowned Liverpool fan club @AnfieldEdition wrote:
“We’ll always be grateful for last season, but this has to be the end now.
“A Liverpool manager cannot lose nine out of 12 games. A Liverpool manager cannot concede 4 goals to PSV at Anfield, or 3 goals to Nottingham Forest. A Liverpool manager cannot be sat in 12th place.
“There are absolutely no signs he is going to turn it around, and, if anything, it’s just going to get worse.”

According to the next Liverpool manager betting odds market, Klopp’s return looks like a real possibility.
The German coach is priced at 5/2 to return to Anfield, making him the leading name on the list. Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola is second at 5/1.
Arne Slot not worried about Liverpool job
While a large section of Liverpool fans is demanding his dismissal, Arne Slot continues to feel ‘safe’ in his position.
After the bruising 4-1 defeat to PSV, Slot said he had a lot of support from the club hierarchy.
“I am feeling safe, I am OK, I have got a lot of support from above,” Slot said.
“It would be nice to turn it around and get a victory of course but if you are working as a coach and not doing well, then it is normal that questions are asked.
“I am OK with my position. It is not the first time I’ve been in a difficult position, but it is about time that we turned it around.”
