Kayla Harrison vs Amanda Nunes - UFC White House

UFC women’s bantamweight queen Kayla Harrison has questioned Amanda Nunes’ professionalism ahead of their UFC 324 battle.

Nunes is widely regarded as the greatest female MMA fighter of all time, but Harrison feels she will miss weight when it comes to their fight.

Kayla Harrison Questions Amanda Nunes Professionalism

Kayla Harrison vs Amanda Nunes was confirmed for the UFC 324 co-main event this past weekend in what is one of the greatest female MMA fights in the history of the sport.

Harrison, the current UFC bantamweight queen, will defend her 135-pound title against the greatest female MMA fighter to have ever graced the octagon in Nunes.

The fight is serving as a co-headline to Justin Gaethje vs Paddy Pimblett for the interim UFC Lightweight Title at UFC 324, despite previously being confirmed for UFC White House next summer.

Instead, Harrison vs Nunes will go down on January 24 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas for UFC gold in the women’s 135-pound division.

Both Nunes and Harrison are said to be friends outside of the cage, having previously shared numerous training and sparring sessions together. However, friendship is put to one side for a while, with Harrison even going one further in insulting her opponent ahead of UFC 324.

The two-time Olympic gold medallist has insulted Nunes and questioned her professionalism ahead of their UFC 324 clash, stating that she has a feeling the Brazilian will miss weight and potentially even pull out of the bout.

Harrison: ‘I’m Not Convinced She Makes 135’

Kayla Harrison has kicked-off the pre-fight build-up with a damning insult of former two-division UFC queen Amanda Nunes.

The 19-1 American MMA fighter has doubts over whether Nunes can make the 135-pound weight limit, having not competed inside the octagon since June 2023.

“I’m not convinced she [Amanda Nunes] makes 135,” said the current UFC women’s bantamweight champion.

“I’m not worried, but we’ve seen her pull out of main events before, and we’ve seen her have issues and struggles.

“I am mentally preparing for me to be disciplined and do my job – and for her to not,” concluded Harrison.

Who Will The Harrison vs Nunes Favourite Be?

Provided both Kayla Harrison and Amanda Nunes make weight and fight at UFC 324 on January 24 in Las Vegas, the current bantamweight queen will go into the contest as the marginal pre-fight favourite.

This comes as no surprise given Nunes’ inactivity, having taken a sabbatical from the sport for over two years.

Harrison on the other hand has had four fights since her Brazilian counterpart last graced the cage. She has also come into the UFC and won three straight fights, picking up the bantamweight crown last time out as well as pocketing one of the coveted UFC bonuses thanks to her ‘Performance of the Night’ showing.

Nunes was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame earlier this year, with her octagon return surprising some, including Dana White. Her inactivity could prove to be her downfall at UFC 324 against a red-hot Harrison, but underestimate ‘The Lioness’ at your peril.

As one of only two females inside the top 25 most followed UFC fighters on Instagram, Amanda Nunes would be a popular winner on January 24, if she were able to overcome her underdog odds and dethrone the dominant bantamweight queen Kayls Harrison.
