Huntington Sunday ITV Racing Tips: Djelo To Prove Too Strong In Peterborough Chase (Again)

1:15 Huntingdon – Sky Bet Handicap Hurdle (Challenger Two Mile Hurdle Series Qualifier) Cl3 (3yo+ 0-125) 2m ITV4
Bluegrass won this ITV Racing contest 12 months ago and this would have been the target again.
He comes here off a third at Lingfield last month (down a pound) and won off this rating at Southwell in October – looks sure to go close despite being 11lbs higher than his win last year.
But it’s interesting that the Alan King yard have won two of the last five runnings and try again with DON’T MIND IF I DO.Â
This five year-old was a beaten jolly on his return run at Aintree last month, but will be better for that spin and might be better back going right-handed, having won at Wincanton last December.
Of the rest, CD winner Haas Boy is on a three-timer and is only up 5lbs for the last of those wins. Harry Cobden, who has been on his back the last twice, carries on in the plate.

The Venetia Williams yard can’t buy a winner at the moment – but surely DJELO can get their season going again here.
He bolted up in this race 12 months ago and heads here having won the Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby last time.
The seven year-old has been freshened up with a month off and is the call the be the first ‘back-to-back’ winner since Racing Demon in 2006/07.
Willie Mullins is sending over Saint Sam though and being a 160-rated horse he’ll certainly add some strong oppo to Djelo.
This consistent Irish raider only has to find three pounds with the Venetia Williams horse.
He was last seen running Found A Fifty close at Fairyhouse in April and hasn’t finished out of the first two in his last seven.
Saint Sam certainly looks the main danger and Harry Cobden, who Mullins often turns to with his UK runners, gets the ride.
Of the rest, it was great to see Hitman knockout his rivals last time in the Old Roan Chase and that win could spark this frustrating customer back to life.
While Boombawn for the Skeltons, who won this in 2015 with Al Ferof, has only four lengths to find with Hitman on the Old Roan form and can mop up some place money.

Kelso Sunday Horse Racing Tips: ITV Racing Best Bets On 7th December

1:30 Kelso – Paxtons For Kverneland Parts And Genuine Spares Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase (GBB) Cl3 (4yo+) 2m7½f ITV4
The Donald McCain yard has a 21% SR with their chasers here at Kelso and run SKUNA BAY.
He was a good winner last time at Bangor, but that came over hurdles and is having his chase debut today – but if taking to fences looks a nice sort.
Only two runs ago he ran the useful Lud’or to three lengths at Wetherby – so could be worth chancing with the yard also going okay at the moment.
The Crawford runner Al Kalila should go well too with Sean Bowen catching the eye in the saddle. He was a good second here last time and should be better for that return run.
I Am Max needs to bounce back from a poor run at Carlisle last time, while Young Jack is the only course winner.
King Of Answers can get involved too – coming from the Russell/Scudamore yard that won this race last year with Whistle Stop Tour.
He was fifth last time out and is another that is sure to have come on for that, being his first run since April.
🥇SKUNA BAY
🥈AL KALILA

2:00 Kelso – Bruce Farms Scottish Borders National Handicap Chase (GBB Race) Cl3 (4yo+ 0-140) 4m½f ITV4
A gruelling test in prospect here for the stayers over 4m 1/2f.
The Sandy Thomson yard have a good record in this – winning 50% of the last eight – so their GROZNI could be worth an e/w interest at a price with former champ Brian Hughes riding.
Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore look to have two big chances as well with Cadell and De Legislator. They won this in 2021 with Big River and had the second last season.
Both are course winners and head here off the back of wins – with the Derek Fox-ridden De Legislator probably looking the more progressive with only three chase runs.
Gold Clermont heads up from the Olly Murphy team too and Lewis Saunders takes off a handy 5lbs again.
The Evan Williams horses are starting to run better too and so their Neo King, off a low weight could be interesting as well.
But this might be another for the Skeltons in their quest to win the 2025/26 British Jumps Trainers Championship with £26k on offer.
They yard have a decent 42% SR with their chasers here (5-12) and run DIAMOND DEALER, who has sparkled in winning his last two.
Up another 7lbs here, but he one easily by nine lengths the last day and could have a lot more to come with just two starts over fences.
Tristan Durrell, who has ridden the last twice, keeps the ride to claim a handy 3lbs.

Nells Son took this race 12 months ago and so has to enter the mix off the same 144 mark.
He was a fine fifth to Harrington last time at Carlisle and that horse has since run well at Haydock to uphold the form.
This Nicky Richards ten year-old also loves Kelso – his form here reads 1-F-2-1-1, so he rates a big player and is sure to be in the mix.
Former Cheltenham Festival winner Unexpected Party is starting to look well-handicapped off 149 and has Harry Atkins taking off 7lbs too.
Matata was third in the Shloer Chase to L’Eau du Sud last time and will find this company easier. Plus was also only a neck runner-up in this 12 months ago.
While CD winner Traprain Law gets in with just 10st 2lbs and will be dangerous off that weight.
The Gavin Cromwell team brings over The Other Mozzie from Ireland, but the yard are just 2-52 at the moment – which is the worry.
So the safer call is the consistent SAINT SEGAL.Â
This Jane Williams runner did have an entry in the Peterborough Chase on Sunday too, but are opting for this easier grade.
He ran second to the promising Thistle Ask in the Haldon Gold Cup last time and has finished in the top three in his last seven starts.
The Haldon Gold Cup fifth Martator has since come out to run well, as has the third JPR One.

SPECTACULARSUNRISE was a nice winner at Bangor by 12 lengths last time out and so it’s no shock this Twiston-Davies runner is popular in the market on handicap debut.
He’s on a fair mark at 122 and its interesting connections are also helping him by putting up Jamie Brace to claim a handy 5lbs.
The softer ground is a slight unknown, but he’s had 41 days to freshen up and looks the sort to have more to come with only five starts.
Of the rest, Heart Above is having his 26th run and heads here after a win at this track – but is up 7lbs here on a new career-high mark.
Bel Amigo and Static can go well too, but the Tom Lacey yard are having a fine season so their Gibbs Island can get involved too after finding the company too hot in the Greatwood last time out.
