Chelsea were in top form on Sunday afternoon against Aston Villa and a convincing win propelled them back up to third in the table – watch the full highlights from Stamford Bridge below. Chelsea Dominate Woeful Villa Nicolas Jackson has been in blistering form of late and it didn’t take him long to make an impact against Aston Villa this weekend, with the Blues striker giving Chelsea a lead after just seven minutes. Marc Cucurella fought his way to the touchline and his cross found Jackson in the box, with the Senegalese forward sweeping past Emiliano Martinez in goal for his eighth Premier League goal of the season. Cole Palmer was as involved as ever for Chelsea in the first half and after a shot from the midfielder was saved by Martinez, the hosts were gifted an indirect freekick just ten yards out as Pau Torres touched the ball just before Martinez picked it up. Martinez recovered well from his mistake to save Palmer’s close range effort, but Chelsea doubled their advantage not long after. Enzo Fernandez has been Chelsea’s most in form player in the last few weeks and he grabbed the game’s second goal just before half time with a beautiful half-volley. The goal was Enzo’s second in his last four games and with five assists in that time too, the Argentine finally looks back to his best. Things went from bad to worse for Villa at half time, as Emi Martinez was forced off with an injury to be replaced by Robin Olsen. The visitors struggled to get into the game during the second half and they never looked like coming back against a strong Chelsea team, that finished Unai Emery’s side off with a late third goal. Palmer finally got his goal right at the end of the game, with a typically stunning strike from the edge of the box nestling in the top corner to sink Villa once and for all. The Blues are now unbeaten in their last five league games and they look firmly in the top four equation as the busy winter period gets underway. Aston Villa on the other hand are dropping down the table fast and with no wins in their last five league games, alarm bells are beginning to ring for the Lions.
