Erling Haaland has been the go-to captain pick for most FPL managers this season, but is he the best player to give the armband to in Gameweek 10?
Below, SportsCasting breaks down the popular and differential captain picks for GW10, explaining why you should and should not consider them.
Best Players to Captain for FPL Gameweek 10
Erling Haaland is the Safest Captain Pick for FPL Gameweek 10
Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland has been on fire in the 2025/26 FPL season. The striker has scored 11 goals and claimed an assist in nine Premier League matches, amassing 85 points.
Haaland, however, drew a blank on Matchday 9, as Aston Villa beat Man City 1-0 at Villa Park. It was only the second league game Haaland failed to score in this season. He only had an xG of 0.23, marking his worst attacking output of the season.

This weekend, Manchester City host an in-form Bournemouth at the Etihad Stadium. The Cherries have scored 16 goals but have also conceded 11 — the most in the top five. Man City, meanwhile, have scored a joint-highest 17 goals in the league while conceding seven.
According to data from Spreadex, Man City are expected to score over 2 goals against Bournemouth, with a 36% chance of keeping a clean sheet. Haaland, who has been the focal point of City’s attack, is expected to be involved. Oddsmakers are giving him a 53% chance of scoring against Bournemouth.
All things considered, Haaland remains the safest captaincy pick for Gameweek 10. However, since he is likely to be the most popular captaincy pick for Matchday 10, you are unlikely to get an edge in your mini league.
Arsenal Star Gabriel Could Be an Excellent Captain Pick for GW10
Arsenal centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes has been one of the most consistent players in the Premier League this season. The Brazilian has scored 68 points from nine Gameweeks, averaging 7.6 points per game.
The £6.5 million defender has scored six or more points in seven of Arsenal’s nine Premier League games this season. Across the last four league matches, Gabriel has scored 43 FPL points, emerging as the most in-form defender in the league.

Premier League leaders Arsenal face 16th-place Burnley in Gameweek 10, and they are heavily favoured to get a comfortable win. This game has the highest projected goals (2.29) and clean sheet odds for Arsenal (52%).
Burnley have looked vulnerable from set pieces and the Gunners have excelled at it. Eleven of their 16 Premier League goals have come from set pieces. Gabriel, who has scored one goal and provided an assist this season, is often the target from dead ball situations.
To top it off, Gabriel regularly racks up Defensive Contribution points, suggesting a healthy payoff could be on the cards.
Bryan Mbeumo Seems Like a Solid Differential Pick
It has taken a while, but Manchester United finally have some momentum in the Premier League. Last weekend, the Red Devils beat Brighton & Hove Albion 4-2 at Old Trafford, extending their winning run to three games.
On Saturday, they will face a struggling Nottingham Forest at City Ground, and they are expected to come away with maximum points. According to bookmakers, Manchester United have a 44% chance of winning on Matchday 10. Their chances of a clean sheet are hovering around 30%.

Bruno Fernandes has generally been the go-to captain pick from Manchester United. But based on recent form, Bryan Mbeumo looks to be the better bet.
The former Brentford man is fresh off his best haul of the 2025/26 FPL season. The midfielder scored two goals, amassing 15 points as Man Utd won 4-2.
Mbeumo, who has seen his value increase in FPL price changes for Gameweek 10, was on target on Matchday 8 as well. He scored the opening goal in the second minute as United beat arch-rivals Liverpool 2-1 at Anfield Stadium. The goal ended Mbeumo’s five-game goalless run in the league.
The Cameroonian is his team’s leader in Non-Penalty Expected Goal Involvements (NPxGI) with a figure of 4.93. Considering how impressive he has looked in recent matches, we expect him to get some goalscoring opportunities against Sean Dyche’s side.
