Newcastle United have seemingly lined up a replacement for Liverpool-linked superstar Alexander Isak.
According to the betting markets, Benjamin Sesko is the most likely replacement for the Swedish striker.
After months of speculation, Isak’s move to Liverpool seems like a real possibility. The former Real Sociedad striker got the ball rolling last week after choosing not to travel to Singapore for the Magpies’ pre-season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool are prepared to pay a record fee for Isak. The Magpies would rather sell Isak to a different club instead of a Premier League rival. Isak, however, only wants to join the English champions.
Odds Suggest Newcastle United Have Found Alexander Isak Replacement
Alexander Isak scored a career-best 23 Premier League goals last season. Newcastle United need to find a fitting replacement for Isak, and football betting sites are leaning heavily towards Benjamin Sesko.
At the time of writing, Newcastle are 4/7 to become the Slovenian’s next club. The odds are rapidly shortening, suggesting the Toons are on track to get their man.
Man Utd Also Want Sesko
Benjamin Sesko, 22, was on Arsenal’s radar before they signed Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting. Manchester United are also interested in signing him, and according to some reports, Sesko is more inclined to join the Red Devils.
Both Newcastle and Man Utd have initiated talks with Sesko’s agent. They have submitted their projects and financial offers, but RB Leipzig have yet to sign off.

Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg has claimed Newcastle are pushing a lot to convince Sesko. The player and his entourage are still leaning toward Man Utd.
Benjamin Sesko Transfer Fee
Bundesliga high-fliers RB Leipzig value Benjamin Sesko greatly and have no intention of selling him for cheap. According to reports, they will only entertain offers exceeding £60 million.
If Alexander Isak moves to Liverpool, Newcastle United would have enough money to sign Sesko. Man Utd, meanwhile, may not be able to push as much. They pulled out of the race for Viktor Gyokeres due to financial constraints. Arsenal sealed the move for £63.5 million.

It will be interesting to see if they try a bit harder to secure a move for Sesko. At the time of writing, Man Utd have slightly poorer odds than Newcastle in the race for Sesko.

Benjamin Sesko joined RB Leipzig from RB Salzburg in July 2023.
Over the last couple of years, he has played 87 games for Leipzig in all competitions, scoring 39 goals and claiming eight assists. In a more supportive system, Sesko could score a lot more frequently.
The next couple of weeks would be crucial for Newcastle, as they scour the market for the perfect Alexander Isak replacement. Alongside Sesko, Jarrod Bowen is also on Newcastle’s list of potential replacements for Isak. They are believed to be going all in for the Premier League forward.
