Fulham Brentford Lineups

Ipswich will be hoping their second trip to the capital will be far kinder than their drubbing at West Ham at the beginning of the month. Find everything from confirmed lineups to predictions in our Brentford vs Ipswich preview.

Brentford return to West London with the knowledge that their home form is only bettered by last season’s runners-up Arsenal.

Suggestions that Thomas Frank’s side may be embroiled in a relegation scrap were quickly rubbished as the Bees collected six points from their opening three games.

They have so far faced Manchester City, Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester United on the road – a tough run to say the least having yielded zero points – but their unbeaten start at the Gtech has been a saving grace.

As for Saturday’s opponents Ipswich, they have so far shown real potential of a side who could well endure the hardship of promotion to the Premier League.

They are, however, lingering on the edge of the relegation zone having failed to register a single win so far.

It isn’t all doom and gloom however – in fact, quite the opposite. The Tractor Boys went unbeaten at the end of October right the way through to September – a run of four games.

A humbling at West Ham and defeat to Everton at home have left a sour taste, and given Brentford’s purple patch at home this could be significant mountain to climb.

Brentford Team News

Igor Thiago, Gustavo Nunes, Aaron Hickey and Josh Dasilva all remain out of action for Brentford.

Thomas Frank could well hand Rico Henry some minutes as he nears full recovery from a long-term knee injury, although he is unlikely to start.

Mathias Jensen could also return after Frank suggested Ipswich is the perfect clash to reintegrate.

Keane Lewis-Potter has been preferred to Yoane Wissa in recent weeks, but it likely the latter will be handed the start here after making an impact at Old Trafford last week.

Ipswich Team News

As for Kieran McKenna’s side, Jacob Greaves, Ben Johnson, Massimo Luongo and Janoi Donacien will all miss this clash. McKenna has also hinted at more potential problems ahead of Saturday, but failed to go into specifics.

On a positive note, Jens Cajuste and Ali Al Hamadi could make their returns to the side.

It is likely Sammie Szmodics steps in for Wes Burns who was largely at fault for Everton’s soft opener last weekend.

Brentford vs Ipswich Prediction

Ipswich will have to be wary of Brentford’s propensity for quick starts, with the Bees having scored within the first 40 seconds in each of their fixtures in September.

This will undoubtedly be an incredible tall order for McKenna’s side, who will have to attempt to take points off a Brentford side who feed off their incredible home support.

No team has scored more goals than the Bees on home soil this term, while Ipswich have managed just three goals in four on the road. UK betting sites have the hosts as strong favourites, and we are inclined to agree.

Prediction: Brentford 3 – 1 Ipswich
