Chris Eubank Sr and Jr - Boxing (1)

After his iconic entrance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium back in April, Chris Eubank Sr is set to join his son once again for the Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn rematch this weekend.

Eubank Jr vs Benn 2 takes place on Saturday night at Spurs once again, with Eubank Sr set to be with his son once again on fight night.

Will Chris Eubank Sr Be At The Eubank Jr vs Benn Rematch?

Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn 2 goes down at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday night, following on from their epic duel back in April in one of the best fights in a British ring in recent memory.

Besides being an all-time classic contest, the first Eubank Jr vs Benn fight will live long in the memory for another reason too.

After years of limited contact and broken down communication, it looked like Chris Eubank Sr would not be in attendance for the biggest fight of his son’s life. Nigel Benn was always going to be there for his son, but the mystery was whether or not Eubank Sr would show up to support his eldest son too.

Despite all of their previous troubles, Eubank Sr did indeed make a grand entrance on fight night to cheer on his son to victory. Not only that, but Eubank Sr also did the ring walk with his son, whilst also lifting him up in victory as a proud father after ‘Next Gen’ defeated Benn via unanimous decision.

Now, boxing fans are questioning whether or not Eubank Sr will once again be in attendance for the rematch this weekend, once again at Spurs.

The Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn 2 press conference is set for Thursday in London, but Eubank Sr won’t be in attendance. However, he will be there on fight night.

When questioned on whether or not his father would be there on November 15, Eubank Jr told The Ring:

“He will be there. He will be there when it counts.

“In terms of my training and camp, he hasn’t been a part of that for a long time, so I don’t see that changing.

“But we talk. I think I am filming a TV show with him tomorrow. Things are a lot better than they were,” revealed Eubank Jr in an interview with The Ring back in September.

What Has Chris Eubank Sr Said About His Son’s Rematch With Conor Benn?

With confirmation that Chris Eubank Sr will be in attendance for the rematch between his son and former foe Nigel Benn’s son Conor, anticipation is palpable for the fourth renewal of a Eubank vs Benn fight night.

Both fathers will be there to support their sons and cheer them on to victory on November 15, but just what have they had to say on the rematch? Nigel is confident his son will get the job done this time, and is firmly looking forward to the fight. Eubank Sr on the other hand isn’t so overjoyed.

After accompanying his son to the hospital in an ambulance after their first fight, Eubank Sr reportedly advised his son against taking the rematch.

Sr has concerns for his son’s health with the 160-pound weight limit and the Eubank Jr vs Benn 2 rules that indicate he can only rehydrate to 170-pounds too.

In a recent interview with talkSPORT, ‘Next Gen’ revealed that he feels his father doesn’t want him to fight in general, and isn’t just against a rematch with Benn, but wants him to hang up his gloves for good:

“I don’t think he wants me to fight in general, not just this particular rematch.

“He thinks that at 36-years-old I should be moving on to different things at this stage of my life.

“But that is a father worrying about his son. He doesn’t see the things I’m doing on a day-to-day basis at the gym. I’m still capable, hungry, loving and dedicating my life to the sport,” Eubank Jr concluded.

Despite his disapproval, Chris Eubank Sr will be there on Saturday night once again to support his son as he faces bitter rival Conor Benn for the second time in their highly-anticipated rematch.

Nigel Benn will also be present, with Eubank Jr vs Benn 2 once again a full family affair.
