Dana White Gives Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall Update

A heavyweight clash between Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall is without a doubt the single biggest fight in the UFC today. Jones vs Aspinall would be for the UFC Heavyweight Title, with talks ongoing between both parties and the UFC to finalise a deal.

As of today, the fight is yet to be signed, but UFC President Dana White is confident that the fight will get made for the summer. UFC 317 is the landmark event this year in International Fight Week, with strong rumours that Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall could land as the UFC 317 main event.

If it does, this means MMA fans could get to witness this compelling UFC Heavyweight Title fight as soon as June. The T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas is already booked for UFC 317 in International Fight Week, so all that’s left to do is to officially announce the fight between interim champion Tom Aspinall and full heavyweight king Jon Jones.

The best UFC betting sites would likely find is impossible to split the pair, with Aspinall perhaps even a marginal favourite, despite being the less experienced guy and non-champion.

UFC fans all over the globe are desperate to see Jones vs Aspinall as soon as possible, with Dana White confident that the fight will happen next. The UFC President spoke recently in an interview on The Jim Rome Show of his desire to make the fight.

White has revealed that his goal for the entire year is to make the Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall clash for the UFC Heavyweight Title.

Dana White Eyes Jones vs Aspinall Summer Showdown For UFC Heavyweight Title

UFC President Dana White is making no secret that he desperately wants to make the Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall fight next. It is without a doubt the biggest fight in the UFC today, alongside a potential Islam Makhachev vs Ilia Topuria clash and maybe even Dricus du Plessis vs Khamzat Chimaev.

The UFC kingpin knows there is still work to be done to get the Jones vs Aspinall fight over the line, but is confident he will get it done and fans will see the fight this summer:

“The plan is for Aspinall to fight Jon this summer,” White revealed in a recent interview on The Jim Rome Show.

“Obviously when, where and all that stuff is being determined. My goal this year is to make that fight.

“I think that the fight that everybody wants to see right now is Jones and Aspinall, and then there’s no doubt that  [Alex] Pereira could fight the winner.

“The other thing about Pereira that everybody loves is, this guy wants to go up to heavyweight and fight at heavyweight. He wants to fight Jones,” White concluded.

It is clear that Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall is Dana White’s priority right now, before a potential clash with Alex Pereira down the line for the winner. Time will tell what happens next, but fingers crossed it isn’t too long until Jones vs Aspinall is officially confirmed.
