Fulham manager Marco Silva eyes January move for Gustavo Hamer – but the main question is will the board back him this time?
With Sheffield United struggling in the Championship, Hamer will be looking for a January move away from the Blades with Fulham keen to secure his signature.
Fulham Transfer Update: Marco Silva Eyes Gustavo Hamer Signing
Fulham boss Marco Silva was massively let down by his owners and the board in the summer, with the Cottagers only bringing in one marquee signing with Kevin’s arrival.
Other than that, Silva was given no backing whatsoever, despite doing a great job since arriving at Craven Cottage back in the summer of 2021.
After coming out publicly in a plea to get backed by Fulham higher-ups, Silva will undoubtedly look to strengthen his squad and add a few names to his ranks in the January transfer window.
The next Fulham manager betting odds suggest an exit could be on the cards for Silva if he isn’t backed this January by the board.

If Silva is afforded the luxury of some cash this time, he could look to bring in highly-rated midfielder Hamer from Championship strugglers Sheffield United.
Hamer was on a lot of Premier League clubs’ transfer wish lists after the Blades were relegated, but ended up staying put to help the club bounce straight back to England’s top flight.
However, things have gone from bad to worse for the south Yorkshire outfit, and Sheffield United now find themselves in a relegation dogfight once again, this time in the Championship.
A player of Hamer’s quality is wasted outside of the top flight, hence Silva’s desire to bring the Brazilian midfielder to Craven Cottage.
Fulham Face Competition From Premier League Rivals Over Gustavo Hamer Signing
Fulham aren’t the only Premier League club who are vying to secure Gustavo Hamer’s signature.
Marco Silva is set to face stiff competition from Premier League rivals Brentford, who have also expressed interest in the Sheffield United midfielder.
Leeds are another club keeping tabs on Hamer, who has played 11 games for the Blades this season in all competitions, registering one goal and one assist.
Of the clubs interested in securing Hamer’s signature, Fulham are the strongest on paper. A move to west London is an attractive proposition for the Brazilian midfielder, especially given Sheffield United’s current state.

The Yorkshire club won’t stand in the way of any Hamer transfer, and could do with the money to help save their own season in the Championship.
With Leeds and Newcastle keeping tabs on Marco Silva, Fulham could do with giving Silva some much-needed funds to strengthen his squad this winter.
Although Silva was let down in the summer by the Fulham board, backing him in January will prove that he is their man.
If Silva is backed by his board, then Hamer will be one of the first players on his shopping list, looking to add depth to the Fulham midfield as well as some added quality.
Should Fulham make no noise in the January transfer window, that truly could spell the end of Silva’s reign in the Craven Cottage hotseat. Given his record, he won’t struggle to find another Premier League job either.
