This weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix will see a special Haas livery as the team celebrates it’s 200th Formula 1 race weekend. The American team joined the grid in 2016, and is now in its 10th year in Formula 1. With some mixed results over the years, Haas have never failed to deliver entertainment. They have bounced between a competitive, upper midfield team and a hapless back-marker, but provided some extremely memorable moments, both on and off-track. Haas Livery A Throwback To First Race In celebration of Haas F1’s 200th race weekend, the team are going back to their roots. Haas have always maintained team colours of red, white, grey and black, with differing ratios. But this special, one-off livery is a reversion to their original design from their debut race, almost a decade ago. A classic livery, reborn 👌🤩 Celebrating race 200 with a nod to where it all began. The grey, black and red design features the number ‘200’ on the engine cover as a nod to the occasion. This retro Haas livery won’t be their first eye-catching look, with the team featuring on our list of the top ten best F1 liveries of the 21st century. When Did Haas Join F1? As mentioned, Haas first entered Formula 1 in 2016. Drivers Romain Grosjean and Esteban Gutiérrez lined up on the grid for the team that season. Grosjean finished sixth at the season opener in Australia, making Haas the first American construcvtor to score points in their debut race. Where Is Haas F1 Based? The Haas Formula 1 team is headquartered in Kannapolis, North Carolina. That location is also the base for sister team and NASCAR entrant, Haas Factory Team. Like many F1 teams, Haas also have a base in England, operating out of Banbury. This helps the team maintain cars and components between races during the European period of the race calendar. Haas also maintain a design office in Maranello, alongside long-time engine supplier Ferrari. Haas F1 is named after its founder and owner, American businessman Gene Haas. The 72-year-old from Youngstown, Ohio has a long history within motorsport. He founded the Haas NASCAR team in 2002. But in 2014, he submitted his interest to the FIA in creating a Formula 1 team. Haas was granted a licence in April 2014, and joined the grid in 2016. The team purchased many assets from the bankrupt Marussia F1 team, and is seen by many as the spiritual successor to the team. When Is the Canadian Grand Prix?
