Leading female jockey Hollie Doyle rode her 1,000th career winner in Britain on Monday 24th March 2025 – when steering home Handle With Care in a 6f Fillies’ Handicap at the Surrey venue.

Hollie Doyle Secures Landmark Career Win At Lingfield

Jockey Hollie Doyle (28) headed to Lingfield on Monday on the 999 winners mark and with four booked rides – needing just one more to hit the magical 1,000 career horse racing successes in Britain.

However, she didn’t have to wait long to reach the milestone after winning the opening contest at 1:47pm, which fittingly was a Fillies’ Handicap over 6f – meaning it was ‘Girl Power’ all the way.

She guided home the Marco Botti-trained HANDLE WITH CARE to see off Toughly and the odds-on favourite So Sassy – winning by 1 1/2 lengths (watch below).

“Marco has been a big supporter of mine for a long time, so it’s quite fitting. She was a bit sluggish at the start in her previous race, but she was much sharper today and she should stay seven furlongs.” Doyle told Sky Sports Racing after her win.

Handle With Care returned at 4/1 with the best horse racing betting sites in the UK.

Full Result: 1:47pm Lingfield (Mon, 24th March, 2025)

  • 1st – Handle With Care (4/1)
  • 2nd – Toughly (6/1)
  • 3rd – So Sassy (10/11 fav)

Hollie Doyle’s First Career Win Came In 2013

Doyle rode her first winner back in 2013 on the David Evans-trained The Mongoose at Salisbury and during the 2019 season racked-up a record 116 wins in a season for a female rider.

It didn’t take long for Hollie Doyle, who is also married to jockey Tom Marquand, to surpass that tally with 172 wins in 2021.

However, this wasn’t the first time Doyle has ridden 1,000 winners – as she reached that global milestone back in September at Goodwood.

After her Lingfield win Group One-winning rider Doyle said.

“I’m delighted to reach this milestone. Hopefully there’s another thousand under the bonnet somewhere!

“I’ve had so much support over the years and so many people have been loyal to me, especially Archie [Watson] as since I joined him my career has really taken off. It’s crazy to reach such a number and hopefully I can keep going.”
