The total Indian Wells prize money pool for 2025 marks a 6.63% jump on 2024, putting it amongst the most lucrative non-Grand Slam events.
As one of the most prestigious dates on the tennis calendar concludes, young champions Jack Draper and Mira Andreeva are basking in the glory of clinching their maiden Masters 1000 titles.
Often referred to as the ‘fifth Grand Slam‘ by players and beyond, 96 of the world’s best on each side of the draw – which puts it somewhere between a Masters and Slam-level field – competed in California for 1000 ATP ranking points and one of the highest prize money pools on the Tour.

Beyond the four Grand Slams, Indian Wells offers not only indistinguishable facilities and an incredible backdrop in the Coachella Valley, but players were fighting for a shot at a sizeable payday this year.
According to Perfect Tennis the total Indian Wells prize money pool across the men’s and women’s draw stood at $19,387,080, marking a 6.63% increase on last year’s edition.
However, for the first time since 2009, it has been revealed that champions Draper and Andreeva will not receive equal winning prize money.
A 2.13% difference between men’s and women’s winners stems from the WTA deciding to funnel more of their share of the prize money to first round losers.
Therefore, men’s champion Jack Draper received $1,201,125 for his first ever ATP Masters 1000 title, while 17-year-old women’s champion Mirra Andreeva received $1,127,500.

It is interesting to note that tennis has seen a growing trend across its most prestigious events; focusing on ensuring first round players receive suitable renumeration after criticism that very little money funnels down to those ranked lower.
However, the ATP swam in a different direction this year, with first-round losers receiving over 15% less than last year’s tournament at $25,375.
