Jon Jones - UFC

Former UFC fighter Brendan Schaub has names three potential opponents for Jon Jones, should the former two-division UFC king fight at next year’s UFC White House card.

As of yet no fights have been confirmed for the UFC White House card, with Jones’ return very much a possibility for the monumental UFC event.

Who Will Jon Jones Fight At UF White House Card?

A whole host of rumours have been flying around about possible fights and big names set to compete on the upcoming UFC White House card next June.

UFC President Dana White confirmed the UFC White House card will happen to celebrate 250 years of American independence next June. The likes of Conor McGregor, Jon Jones and several other fighters have expressed an interest in fighting on the monumental show.

US President Donald Trump has a good relationship with White, hence the possibility of this UFC White House card actually happening on the South Lawn next summer.

As of today no fights have been officially announced, neither has a date for the scheduled event either. However, White and Trump remain confident the show happens with an official announcement expected around Christmas time or early next year.

One man who has made his intentions clear of wanting to return on the UFC White House card is Jon Jones. The former two-division UFC king recently retired from MMA, but has hinted at a return if it means fighting at the White House.

Jones was in negotiations for a fight with Tom Aspinall for several months, but eventually opted for retirement instead. Now however, ‘Bones’ is flirting with the idea of a comeback.

Should Jones return at UFC White House, he will likely be favourite with UFC betting sites no matter who he faces. That is with the exception of Tom Aspinall, depending on how he performs in his next fight at UFC 321 next month.

Brendan Schaub Names Three Potential Jon Jones Opponents For UFC White House Card

One man who believes he knows three perfect opponents for Jones at the UFC White House card is retired MMA fighter Brendan Schaub.

Schaub told The Fighter and the Kid podcast that he can see three names being a possibility for Jones’ fight on the South Lawn this summer, if indeed he returns to competitive action.

“I think you could see Jon vs Francis [Ngannou]. I think you’re going to get something crazy. Jon vs Alex Pereira, Jon vs Tom Aspinall,” Schaub concluded.

Will Jon Jones Actually Fight At UFC White House?

Although he has talked about a potential octagon return at the UFC White House card, MMA fans are somewhat sceptical about the chances of Jon Jones actually returning to competition.

Jones’ next fight was a hot topic of conversation after he stopped Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 last November, with fans begging the greatest MMA fighter of all time to defend his UFC Heavyweight Title against Tom Aspinall.

However, that never materialised with Jones instead calling time on his career. Now, it seems that ‘Bones’ is very much open to the idea of returning to fight at the UFC White House card next June.

Jones even tweeted during the summer that he was re-entering the testing pool, just to keep his options open. This is the same as Conor McGregor, who also re-entered the UFC testing pool a couple of months ago.

It remains to be seen whether or not Jon Jones actually fights at next year’s UFC White House card or not. However, you can’t blame any MMA fans for remaining totally sceptical at the prospect of a Jones return.
