Former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has continued his Manchester City discussion this week, saying he wants justice to be served but for City to remain in the Premier League.

Ahead of Fenerbahce’s Europa League clash against Athletic Bilbao on Thursday night, Jose Mourinho was asked again about Manchester City for the second time in the last week.

Continuing on from his last press conference, Mourinho explained that he has no bad blood with City boss Pep Guardiola, despite a short back and forth with his former colleague about their Premier League titles.

“In relation to Pep, we worked together for three years,” Mourinho explained. “I was an assistant and he was a player [at Barcelona]. I like him a lot and he knows that. He likes me and I know that. There are no problems between us.”

Mourinho may have felt the need to clear up his situation with Guardiola this week, after he questioned the City boss over the legitimacy of his Premier League titles.

‘The Special One’ has made his opinion on the City FFP charges clear but the Fenerbahce boss would like to see his old rivals remain in the top flight.

“It’s not true that I want Man City to be relegated. It’s true that I like justice, and many times small clubs have been punished for going over budget by five or 10 euros in the rules of financial fair play.

“For example, I suffered in Roma for three years with great limitations. I don’t think it is fair that the big sharks – the financial sharks – always find a way to escape the rules.”

Mourinho was denied a Premier League title by City during the final year of his reign in Manchester, so he has every right to hold a grudge against the Ciyzens.

However as the 61-year-old reminded Guardiola earlier this week, Mourinho has won three ‘legitimate’ league titles of his own with Manchester United.
