Jude Bellingham and Jobe Will Not Meet in Club World Cup

Jude Bellingham’s Real Madrid and Jobe Bellingham’s Borussia Dortmund will meet in the quarter-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup. However, fans will have to wait to see the Bellingham brothers battle it out on the pitch.

Real Madrid played a tidy game against Juventus on Tuesday, securing a comfortable 1-0 victory. Gonzalo Garcia, who started his fourth consecutive game for Los Blancos, scored the only goal of the game in the 54th minute.

Later on Tuesday, Borussia Dortmund met Mexican outfit Monterrey. Serhou Guirassy scored two goals in the span of 10 minutes (14′, 24′) to put Dortmund in control. Monterrey clawed one back in the 48th minute through German Berterame, but could not complete the turnaround.

After Real Madrid qualified, neutral fans were cheering for Dortmund to beat Monterrey. They were eager to see Jude and Jobe Bellingham settle their sibling rivalry on the pitch. However, much to the dismay of fans, the only two brothers in opposing camps in Club World Cup history will not face each other.

Jude Bellingham Will Not Face Jobe in Club World Cup Quarter-Finals

Real Madrid ‘Galactico’ Jude Bellingham had a decent game against Juventus. He created two chances, had two attempts on target, and completed 44 passes in 90 minutes. In the 87th minute, Bellingham picked up a yellow card for a rough tackle.

His brother, who prefers to wear ‘Jobe’ on the back of his shirt, also had a solid game. He created a big chance, made two recoveries, won three duels, and slipped four passes into the final third. Unfortunately, he picked up a yellow card for a shove on Nelson Deossa in the 28th minute. It was the 19-year-old’s second yellow card of the Club World Cup. This means Sunderland’s most expensive departure will miss the next game, the quarter-final clash against Jude Bellingham’s Real Madrid.

‘So Anticlimactic’ – Fans React After Jobe Bellingham’s Club World Cup Suspension

Jude and Jobe Bellingham must be gutted after the latter’s suspension. But they cannot possibly be more disappointed than fans who were eager to see which Bellingham brother would come out on top.

@ASjeloFacts wrote on X (formerly Twitter):

They gave Jobe a yellow? 😭💔

We are not going to see:
“Jobe vs Jude”
“Who is the better Bellingham?“

Noooooo so anticlimactic

@phodroa added:

jobe bellingham had one job to not get a yellow to go against jude

@insiderJudas chimed in with a hilarious comment, writing:

he waited his whole life for a brotherly showdown and got benched by paperwork. even in football, the scribes stay undefeated.”

@DonBenzuuu, meanwhile, wants Borussia Dortmund to appeal Jobe’s yellow card.

He didn’t deserve the yellow, is there a way they can appeal it? VARça does it all the time.

@kojocona lamented the missed opportunity to witness sibling drama.
We were robbed of elite sibling drama

While we will not be treated to the Bellingham brawl this time around, the Madrid-Dortmund clash — a replay of the 2024 Champions League final — promises to be a cracker.
