Lucas Paqueta Red Card

Lucas Paqueta will miss at least one game after being sent off in West Ham United’s defeat by Liverpool – but could face further sanctions.

Paqueta saw two yellow cards in quick succession, leaving West Ham with 10 men for the final few minutes of the game and ending their chances of a fight back.

The Brazilian will be unavailable for West Ham’s game away at Manchester United, but Paqueta is also at risk of a further ban after heavily criticising the FA on social media.

Lucas Paqueta To Miss One Match After Liverpool Red

Relegation-threatened West Ham were beaten 2-0 by Liverpool at London Stadium thanks to a second-half double from Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo.

West Ham were in the game until the 84th minute with the score at 1-0. However, their chances of an equaliser took a big hit when Paqueta lost his head.

In the 83rd minute, the referee awarded Liverpool a foul after Dominik Szoboszlai hit the ground under pressure from Niclas Fullkrug. Paqueta strongly protested the call and got booked by Darren England.

Despite receiving the yellow card, Paqueta continued to protest and picked up another booking, reducing the Hammers to 10 men.

Liverpool made the most of their advantage in injury time, with Gakpo sealing a 2-0 win.

Since Paqueta was sent off for dissent, he will only miss one game – the trip to Manchester United on Thursday, December 4.

Nuno Espirito Santo will be able to select him for the match against Brighton & Hove Albion at Amex Stadium on Sunday.

While Paqueta remains a key player for the Hammers, the red card against Liverpool has rekindled exit talks. West Ham bosses have decided to sell Paqueta as they look to cut their losses.

SportsCasting’s experts believe a January exit is more likely than ever.

Paqueta’s next club odds are pointing towards a move to Saudi Arabia.

Paqueta Risks Further Ban After Lashing Out Against the FA

Lucas Paqueta risks a further ban after heavily criticising the FA on social media.

On X, Paqueta claimed that he did not get any psychological support from the FA during the course of the spot-fixing probe.

After Sky Sports co-commentator Rob Green called his red card “ridiculous behaviour,” Paqueta hit back, writing:

It’s ridiculous to have your life and career affected for two years without any psychological support from the federation.

Perhaps this ridiculous behaviour is just a reflection of everything I’ve had to endure and, it seems, have to continue enduring! I’m sorry if I’m not perfect.”

Paqueta has played 12 Premier League matches this season, scoring three goals.
