Manchester United are considering a move for young Atalanta midfielder Sergej Levak – who has drawn comparisons to several Ballon d’Or winners.
Ruben Amorim’s United have recently sent scouts to monitor Levak in action for Atalanta’s under-23 side.
The 2006-born Croatian starlet has attracted significant interest after lighting up Serie C for the side’s reserve team.
And according to reports, Manchester United have emerged as one of the most interested parties.
Keen to add a talented holding midfielder, the Red Devils have identified Levak as a serious target.
The 19-year-old Atalanta talent has drawn comparisons with fellow Croatian and 2018 Ballon d’Or winner, Luka Modric.
And others have reported similarities with another former winner, Manchester City star Rodri.
Scouts have been particularly impressed with Levak’s timing when arriving late into the box from deep.
He wouldn’t be the first wonderkid linked to Old Trafford this week, either.
Manchester United will battle Real Madrid for young Olympiacos star Christos Mouzakitis, with Ruben Amorim showing a clear intent to recruit more promising youngsters.

Who is Manchester United Target Sergej Levak?
Rising star Sergej Levak is the latest in what feels alike a conveyor belt of elite Croatian midfielders.
As well as national hero Modric, the likes of Ivan Rakitic and Mateo Kovacic have also written their names into the history books.
And in recent years, names such as Gabriel Vidovic and Luke Sucic have emerged as the next wave of stars.
Levak, meanwhile, spent his youth in Croatia, playing for hometown club Osijek.
In 2023, he moved to Italy, sining for AS Roma’s academy.
After two-and-a-half years in the capital, he switched to Atalanta over the summer.
With 13 appearances for the under-23 side in Serie C, Levak has scored three goals already this term.
His performances have attracted attention from some of Europe’s biggest clubs – including Manchester United.
Sergej Levak Could Be Heading To The Premier League
It’s no surprise to see Manchester United targeting Sergej Levak.
After a summer window spent bringing in top-level talent for the first team, the focus has now shifted towards future-proofing the squad.
Signing elite youth prospects has become common practice in the Premier League.
Chelsea are pursuing Dylan Lawlor from Cardiff City, while United have already brought in some youngsters of their own.
Sekou Kone recently made the switch to Old Trafford, with Cristian Orozco also linked.
And the addition of 19-year-old Levak would add further depth and potential to United’s midfield.
Many believe he has already outgrown his environment at Atalanta, and is wasting his talent in Serie C.
The time may therefore be right for this prodigal young star to secure a dream move to the Premier League.
