The Oleksandr Usyk next fight is yet to be confirmed, as the great Ukrainian seeks next challenge following emphatic stoppage victory over Daniel Dubois.
After his back-to-back wins over Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia and his latest knockout of Dubois at Wembley Stadium, Usyk could well face either Joseph Parker or Agit Kabayel in his next fight.
Oleksandr Usyk Next Fight: Who Will The Undefeated Ukrainian Face Next?
Oleksandr Usyk boasts a £45m net worth and has become one of the 21st century boxing greats in recent years. The unbeaten Ukrainian fighter not only became undisputed champion at cruiserweight, but has also become undisputed king of the heavyweight division on two occasions.
Usyk has beaten all comers in his career to date, including Anthony Joshua on two occasions, Tyson Fury twice after back-to-back victories over ‘The Gypsy King’ and now multiple victories over Daniel Dubois too.
Usyk became the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the four belt era, and the first since Lennox Lewis achieved the feat against Evander Holyfield in 1999.
Oleksandr Usyk’s record is currently a perfect 24-0. This includes 15 wins via knockout and just nine decision victories. Not only that, but the great Ukrainian has won all 13 world title fights he has competed in at both cruiserweight and heavyweight combined.
The 38-year-old will aim to improve this record in his next fight too, after he revealed that he wishes to fight on and not retire just yet. In terms of an opponent, Joseph Parker and Agit Kabayel are the two front-runners to face ‘The Cat’ next.
Parker deserves another shot at world honours, with Kabayel also deserving of his maiden shot at becoming world champion. That being said, neither man would be favoured amongst boxing fans to go on and defeat the great Ukrainian three-time undisputed champion.
Oleksandr Usyk’s next fight is yet to be confirmed, but rest assured the undisputed world heavyweight king will be the favourite with boxing betting sites no matter who he faces.
Will Oleksandr Usyk Retire After His Next Fight?
After defeating Tyson Fury for the second time in in December 2024, Oleksandr Usyk pocketed £82.5m in prize money for his rematch win over ‘The Gypsy King’ before earning £97.5m for his rematch with Daniel Dubois.
There has been some talk that Usyk’s next fight could be trilogy with Fury in 2026, but the fight is totally meaningless at this stage. Instead, Usyk may well opt to hang up his gloves and retire from the sport as an all-time great.
Usyk does still have plenty of options going forward. Whether that be a showdown with Joseph Parker, an Agit Kabayel fight or a Fury trilogy – these are all fights that have been discussed since his knockout victory over Dubois on July 19th.
However, another option for ‘The Cat’ could be retirement. At 38-years-old and with nothing left to prove, Usyk could well sail off into the sunset and retire from the sport.
If he decides to do this, nobody could begrudge him. He has had a career littered with major triumphs and sensational performances, so there is nothing left for Usyk to prove, having entirely wiped out both the cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions.
Even after Usyk’s next fight against challengers such as Joseph Parker, Agit Kabayel or even Moses Itauma, who all feel they deserve a shot at the heavyweight king, he may well decide to call it a day.
Eddie Hearn believes Jai Opetaia is the only man capable of beating Usyk too, so that is potentially a fight that could happen at some stage next year. That is provided the great Ukrainian doesn’t retire.
Time will tell what happens after Oleksandr Usyk’s next fight. One thing that cannot be denied is the fact he is a modern great and one of the best fighters of all time. Period.
