UFC lightweight contender Paddy Pimblett has stepped up his trash talk as he chases UFC Lightweight Title shot against Ilia Topuria.
The Liverpudlian wants to face Topuria at the famous Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid, stating that he wants to ‘punch your face in in enemy territory’.
Paddy Pimblett Calls For Bernabeu Super-Fight With Ilia Topuria
Paddy Pimblett’s next fight is yet to be officially confirmed, as the #7 UFC lightweight contender chases a bout with Ilia Topuria for the UFC Lightweight Title.
There have been several rumours all over social media that Pimblett was indeed getting the next shot at ‘El Matador’ and the 155-pound belt, but as of today nothing has been confirmed.
After Topuria destroyed Charles Oliveira inside one round to win the UFC Lightweight Title last time out, Pimblett got in the octagon and faced-off with the undefeated champion, insinuating that was the next fight to make at lightweight.
However, UFC President Dana White wasn’t pleased at ‘The Baddy’ being allowed inside the octagon with Topuria, with the likes of Justin Gaethje and Arman Tsarukyan perhaps more deserving of the next shot at Topuria and the lightweight belt.
That hasn’t stopped Pimblett from continually calling out Topuria in any interview he does. Now, the Liverpudlian has upped his game even more as he continues his trash-talking campaign in a bid to secure the Topuria fight.
In his latest interview with eldoberdanMMA, ‘The Baddy’ took digs at Topuria’s heritage, whilst also dissing the Bernabeu Stadium, home of Real Madrid FC, labelling it a ‘s***hole’.
Topuria eyed a Santiago Bernabeu showdown with Pimblett previously, and now it seems that the English MMA star is up for the task too:
“I want to fight Ilia, whenever, wherever. I’d love to come to Bernabeu and punch your face in. Do it in Spain in front of your fake countrymen because you’re really German.
“I’d love to come and punch your face in in front of 90,000 people in the Bernabeu in enemy territory for me because the Bernabeu is a s***hole,” Pimblett told eldoberdanMMA.

Paddy Pimblett Steps Up Trash Talk With Ilia Topuria
The trash talking from Paddy Pimblett didn’t stop there either. Whether Ilia Topuria vs Paddy Pimblett is next or not remains to be seen, but it isn’t the lack of effort from ‘The Baddy’ that will ultimately get him his shot or not.
Pimblett is currently on a seven fight winning streak and is now ranked at #7 at 155-pounds. Although there are several fighters above him in the lightweight rankings, the 30-year-old feels he is deserving of his shot.
Not only that, but Pimblett is adamant that he beats ‘El Matador’. Ever since signing for the UFC., Pimblett has had words to say about the Spanish-Georgian MMA phenom, believing that he has the skillset to beat the undefeated king:
“I can see so many ways that I finish him,” Pimblett said.
“Everyone thinks that on the feet it would be a one-sided fight. I can see myself knocking him out. Kicks and knees and elbows. I respect his hands, I respect him as a fighter, he’s very good. But once I get on top of him, he wouldn’t get back up, he wouldn’t be able to. I’d elbow him that many times that he looks like The Elephant Man.
“With me, I’m already in his head. He’s not going to fight me like he fights everyone else. He’s going to try and take my head off and he’ going to get his head took off in the process,” concluded ‘The Baddy’.
Whether or not Ilia Topuria’s next fight is indeed against Paddy Pimblett remains to be seen. If it is, the build-up would be incredible between these two bitter rivals. Not to mention that the coveted UFC Lightweight Title is on the line too!
