See below our quickfire Punchestown horse racing tips and key stats on Wednesday, as the County Kildare track stage a seven-race card that features more runners from the in-form Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott yards.
Punchestown Stage Rescheduled Bank Holiday Card On Wednesday 🇮🇪
With day one of the Dublin Racing Festival cancelled, this had a knock-on effect to the other Irish meetings this week.
As Sunday’s Punchestown card had to make way for the lost DRF Saturday card – meaning this fixture has been pushed back to Wednesday.
The good news is there are no reported issues at the track, with the action getting going at 12:28pm and ending at 3:58pm.
So see below our quickfire 1-2-3 Punchestown horse racing tips and also some helpful stats to take into each race.

Former Irish Gold Cup winner, Conflated is now 12 and has been running in Points – but Jack Kennedy prefers the other Gordon Elliott runner The Goffer.
He was fifth in the race last year – but beaten a massive 31 lengths, so does have a fair bit of ground to make up on last year’s winner VANILLIER, who is also back for more.
But is 14lbs better off this time with the 2025 winner and should go close.
However, the 2023 Grand National runner-up (Vanillier) landed this prize by 18 lengths last season and after a fine third at Haydock in the Last Fling Chase at Haydock should be spot on for his title defence.
Of the rest, Cavalry Master and Shannon Royale are proven course winners, which is a plus over this Cross Country course.
While trainer Enda Bolger has a top record in the contest – so the former Grade One Melling Chase winner Fakir d’Oudairies is noted too.
Selections
🥇VANILLIER
🥈THE GOFFER
🥉FAKIR D’OUDAIRIES
KEY STATS 📈
- Vanillier won this race in 2025
- Trainer Enda Bolger has won 6 of the last 9 runnings

Nine Graces and Miss Pronunciation are the only course winners in the field and command respect on that.
While the Gavin Cromwell team took this last season and try again, this time with the consistent Sophia Rose, with a light weight.
But the call is CRECORA HILLS, with the in-form Mark Walsh riding.
She was last seen running third (of 16) here on New Year’s Eve and gets in here off the same mark (113).
With the final plus the good SR of the Tyner yard here with their chasers (27%).

Willie Mullins has won the last two runnings of this maiden hurdle and he’s taken to make it three.
He runs Mino Des Mottes with Danny Mullins riding, but also has TOO BOSSY FOR US here, and he’s the pick for Paul Townend too.
This 5yo was last seen running on the flat, when down the field in the Irish Cesarewitch at the Curragh in September.
But has only had two runs over hurdles, one of which was a fair 7th in last season’s Triumph Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
Mullins also won the race last year with his Breeders’ Cup winner Ethical Diamond, who is also owned by the H O S Syndicate, who have Too Bossy For Us.
Of the rest, the Gordon Elliott pair Speculateur and course winner Forceonmyown can give the Mullins pick most to think about.

Not the best-looking race, so that will give most of the runners some sort of a chance – barring, you feel, 100/1 shot Peppers Cross.
Including the unexposed Agameoftwohalves, who has only had three runs but been well beaten each time.
Mark Walsh rides and there should be a lot more to come, but a chance is taken on KASHCHEI.
This 6 year-old was a fair 7th (of 12) last time at Navan but is also helped this time with Eion Staples taking off 5lbs.
While it’s also interesting the Cian Collins yard won this in 2025.
Good Option is also unexposed with just three runs and has to be considered for the Cromwell team in a weak affair.
Selections
🥇KASHCHEI
🥈AGAMEOFTWOHALVES
🥉GOOD OPTION
KEY STATS 📈
- Trainer Cian Collins won this race in 2025

Another open affair – just the seven runners but you can certainly make cases for them all.
With both recent winners of the race carrying low weights, then James The Brave is noted with just 10st.
But does need to bounce back from being pulled up last time.
Needs Must will draw the eye for Gordon Elliott and won well at Fairyhouse last time. However, is up a big-looking 10lbs
Lough Nigara was a course winner here last time but is up 8lbs.
While Mojoe is the only CD winner in the field, but also up 6lbs from that last win.
But it’s also hard to ignore the top SR’s of both Mullins and Townend over hurdles here (see below) – they team up with LUMIERE DU LARGE.
This 5yo Gigginstown runner has been running in much better races – including 10th in the Triumph Hurdle last season at the Cheltenham Festival.
Into calmer surroundings here will help and a recent 4th to Kazansky has been franked since with that horse running well at the DRF.
Selections
🥇LUMIERE DU LARGE.
🥈JAMES THE BRAVE
🥉NEEDS MUST

- Trainer J P Dempsey is just 2-34 (6%) with his hurdlers here
- Conor Stone Walsh is just 1-39 riding over hurdles here

That Danny Feeling has the form in the book to go well after an excellent second at Clonmel in December.
With the form franked after the third Spinningayarn has won since.
Frankie’s Freebie and Bergamasquo are others to note.
But it’s hard to ignore the good record of the Willie Mullins yard here – winning the last two runnings.
Yes, their runner here FILLYOUREYE has been a tad disappointing this term over hurdles.
But his run last time looks too bad to be true having raced a bit keen.
Has had a month to get over that and prior to that had run okay, albeit second both times, this season.
With his second to Zanoosh here in December a fair effort – a repeat of that would make him hard to beat.
Selections
🥇FILLYOUREYE
🥈THAT DANNY FEELING
🥉LORD TOBIN
KEY STATS 📈
- 2/2 Winning favourites
- Willie Mullins won this race last year
- Both winners aged 6

Course winners Pebble Bleu and Slotty Dotty are respected on that alone.
While Watching The Clock (Roche), Magic Bloom (Elliott) and Catchabird have been running well recently and should in the in the mix too.
But a chance is taken on last year’s winner LUCKY LIV bouncing back to form.
She won this race 12 months ago rated 101 and is now just a pound higher.
Yes, three runs this season have been poor, but the return to this track, where she’s 1-3, could spark her back to life.
John Shinnick, who rode her to win last year, is also back in the saddle to claim a handy 3lbs.
Selections
🥇LUCKY LIV
🥈PEBBLE BLEU
🥉WATCHING THE CLOCK
KEY STATS 📈
- Lucky Liv won this race last season
- Jockey Aidan Kelly is just 4-68 over hurdles here
- Jockey Philip Donovan is just 2-44 over hurdles here
