Robert Whittaker Next Fight - UFC

The Robert Whittaker next fight sees the former UFC middleweight king aim to bounce back in 2025. Having lost in Round 1 at UFC 308 to Khamzat Chimaev, ‘The Reaper’ has another rebuilding job to do if he wants to earn another shot at the UFC middleweight Title going forward.

Robert Whittaker Next Fight: Who Is ‘The Reaper’ Fighting Next & When Will It Be?

When it comes to the 185-pound division in the UFC, Robert Whittaker is a seasoned veteran. Although just 33-years-old, ‘The Reaper’ has had 18 fights at middleweight in the UFC over a period of 12 years.

The Robert Whittaker record currently stands at 26-8. This consists of 10 knockout victories, five submissions and 11 wins via decision. The New Zealand MMA phenom is of course the former king at 185-pounds in the UFC too.

UFC fans last saw Robert Whittaker in action at UFC 308, losing in Round 1 to the machine that is Khamzat Chimaev. There is no disgrace in losing to Chimaev, who looks like he could be the best fighter in the division by quite some distance.

UFC President Dana White has gone on record several times admitting how much of a fan of Whittaker he is. ‘Bobby Knuckles’ will no doubt come again, but his next fight won’t be for at least six months or so you would imagine.

Given the damage sustained to his jaw and mouth by Khamzat Chimaev, Whittaker will likely let his body rest and face heal for a while now. He will need some sort of surgery to his face, so could be out of action for the best part of a year potentially. Time will tell if this is the case or not.

Regardless of when his next fight will be and who it will be against, the best UK betting sites will likely list ‘The Reaper’ as the betting favourite. Bar the top three or four fighters at 185-pounds, Robert Whittaker is without a doubt one of the most skilled and fearsome men at middleweight.

Could Whittaker’s Next Fight See One More Shot At Winning Back The UFC Middleweight Title?

Having been defeated quite emphatically by Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 308, Robert Whittaker’s next fight most definitely won’t be for the UFC Middleweight Title. Instead, it is like that Chimaev will get a shot at Dricus Du Plessis next at Whittaker’s expense.

Prior to the Chimaev fight, Whittaker was ranked at #3 at 185-pounds. However, he has of course dropped down the rankings now having been submitted in Round 1 at UFC 308 by ‘Borz’. That being said, do not rule out Whittaker going forward in 2025.

Although he seems a few steps away from the UFC Middleweight Title right now, MMA fans have seen ‘The Reaper’ bounce back from defeat on several occasions. He is one of the most skilled fighters in the division, and will undoubtedly come again and perhaps even have one more run at the title over the next year or two.

If the UFC Title fight doesn’t come to fruition for Whittaker anytime soon, there are of course other options too. A bout against Sean Strickland would make sense. A trilogy with Israel Adesanya too perhaps? Whittaker at least deserves another few mammoth fights and huge paydays before he hangs up the gloves.

The best UFC betting sites in the UK will likely favour Whittaker to defeat everyone in the 185-pound division besides Adesanya, Du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev. Time will tell what happens next for ‘Bobby Knuckles’, but he certainly isn’t too far away from the promised land once again. That is for sure.

Lets hope that Robert Whittaker’s next fight is one that sees him get back in the win column in 2025.
