Rory McIlroy

After playing a major part in Team Europe’s success at the 2025 Ryder Cup, many golf fans are asking when the Rory McIlroy next tournament will be.

Golf fans want to know when we can next expect to see the Northern Irishman back on the course. McIlroy’s next tournament is expected to be the Abu Dhabi Championship as he aims to win a record seventh Race to Dubai title before the end of the year.

When Is The The Rory McIlroy Next Tournament?

Rory McIlroy’s Ryder Cup record improved once again following Europe’s exploits at the 2025 Ryder Cup, meaning the Northern Irishman has now secured 21.5 points across his eight Ryder Cup appearances.

However, attentions quickly turned back to individual golf competition as the five-time major champion returned in mid-October at the India Championship, finishing in a tie for 26th place on -11 par.

Now, the 36-year-old will turn his attentions back to the Race to Dubai, where McIlroy attempts to capture a seventh title.

There are just two events left before the end of the 2025 DP World Tour season, with just the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and the DP World Tour Championship to cap it all off in Dubai in mid-November.

With two European Tour tournaments to go and nothing of note for McIlroy to play in on the PGA Tour, this means McIlroy’s next tournament will be the Abu Dhabi Championship from 6-9 November.

The Northern Irishman is chasing a record four successive Race to Dubai victory, and will have to fend off challenges from the likes of Ryder Cup teammates Robert MacIntyre Tyrrell Hatton and Englishman Marco Penge if he is to achieve this magnificent feat.

With the FedEx Cup complete on the PGA Tour, McIlroy won’t tee it up in America until January. The 2026 PGA Tour season will kick off the The Sentry from 8-11 January as one of the signature events.

Rory McIlroy’s net worth will rise in the coming years, particularly given how the Northern Irishman continues to perform at the highest level of the sport.

Rory McIlroy WINS 45th Ryder Cup With Team Europe At Bethpage Black

The last time golf fans saw Rory McIlroy in action besides the DP World India Championship was of course at the 2025 Ryder Cup.

McIlroy and his European counterparts defeated Team USA to win the 45th Ryder Cup by a scoreline of 15-13.

The Northern Irishman himself played in all five sessions, securing 3.5 points for his team in the process. McIlroy was defeated by world number one Scottie Scheffler in Sunday’s singles matches, but was unbeaten in foursomes and four-balls at Bethpage Black.

McIlroy partnered Tommy Fleetwood in the first foursomes session on Friday, defeating Collin Morikawa and Harris English 5&4. He then partnered Shane Lowry in the four-balls on Friday, halving the match with Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele.

Saturday was McIlroy’s best showing, winning two points from a possible two in New York. Once again, McIlroy and Fleetwood beat English and Morikawa in the foursomes, before he and Lowry beat Cameron Young and Justin Thomas in the four-balls on Saturday afternoon.

McIlroy fought all the way to the end on Sunday in the singles against Scheffler, but ended up losing 1up to the dominant American star. Ultimately though, the Northern Irishman was one of the top performing players at the entire Ryder Cup.

Attentions will now turn back to his own career in a non-team capacity with McIlroy aiming to win a fourth consecutive and seventh overall Race to Dubai title to finish off the 2025 season.

The career Grand Slam winner remains one of the best players in the world and will continue to win a whole host of tournaments for however long he wants to continue playing professional golf.
