World number four Stephen Bunting has achieved a sensational feat after winning the Swiss Darts Trophy this past weekend.
Bunting victory in Basel means he has become just the third player in PDC history alongside Michael van Gerwen and Luke Littler to win two European Tour titles, two World Series of Darts events and two Players Championships in a single year.

English darting sensation Stephen Bunting made history this past weekend en route to clinching the Swiss Darts Trophy.
‘The Bullet’ defeated fellow countryman Luke Woodhouse 8-3 in the final, marking Bunting’s second European Tour title of the year.
In winning his second European Tour title of the year, Bunting made history. He has become just the third player in PDC history to win two European Tour titles, two World Series of Darts events and two Players Championship titles in the same calendar year.
Bunting’s form this season has been sensational, so it comes as no surprise to see him join the elite list alongside reigning world champion Luke Littler and three-time world champion Michael van Gerwen.
Stephen Bunting’s net worth has continued to increase this season due to his strong form, which has also resulted in him climbing to #4 in the official PDC Order of Merit.
The St Helens’ man is now just behind Luke Humphries, Littler and van Gerwen in the current standings. As the fourth best darts player in the world right now, Bunting could be a dark horse for the World Darts Championship at Ally Pally in December.
This year alone, Bunting has won the Swiss Darts Trophy and International Darts Open on the European Tour. Add to that his two World Series of Darts titles at the Bahrain Darts Masters and Nordic Darts Masters too.
Bunting also won PC18 and PC25 meaning he has won at least two events on the World Series, European Tour and Players Championship.
In doing so, Bunting has become just the third player in history to achieve this feat. Michael van Gerwen did it in 2016, 2017 and 2019, with Luke Littler achieving the milestone last year. Now, Bunting has joined that elite list.

Bunting Amongst Favourites For World Darts Championship
Having won two European Tour titles, two World Series of Darts events and two Players Championship titles, Stephen Bunting has firmly paced himself amongst the favourites for the upcoming majors in autumn and winter.
Bunting has positioned himself as one of the leading contenders for the World Darts Championship at Ally Pally in December. However, before then there are still a few majors that ‘The Bullet’ will be a leading contender in.
The World Grand Prix takes place from 6-12 October, with Bunting now one of the pre-tournament favourites for the title. The Grand Slam of Darts then takes place from 8-16 November, with the Players Championship Finals taking place from 21-23 November.
These three major PDC titles are the last three of the season before the Worlds in December and January. Having climbed to fourth in the world rankings and given his strong form, Bunting will be one of the leading contenders in each of these upcoming majors.
The Englishman will feel he is more than capable of winning at least one of these events, further solidifying himself as one of the best payers in world darts right now.
Bunting has reached the semi-finals of the World Darts Championship twice, including last time out when Littler defeated ‘The Bullet’ before going on to win his maiden Sid Waddell Trophy.
This year, the PDC World Darts Championship prize money has hit £5m, with the winner set to become the first player in history to win £1m for a single darts event.
