The official UFC Europe social media account has teased a major fight announcement for the UK.

Although unconfirmed, it looks like the UFC will be heading to London in the New Year for a major fight card.

UFC Tease Major UK Fight Night Announcement

The UFC have teased a major UK fight announcement as Dana White looks ahead to the New Year and putting on major fights all around the world.

Although unconfirmed, it looks like the UFC will be heading to UK shores early in the New Year, judging by their latest social media post.

This cryptic post by the UFC Europe X account (formerly Twitter) has teased a major UK announcement, which is expected to come imminently.

With Paddy Pimblett’s UFC Title shot confirmed for the UFC 324 main event in Las Vegas next year, this pending announcement certainly isn’t about him.

However, there are several other UK based UFC fighters looking to announce their next move, which is likely the case.

Whether this social media tease means a major fight announcement for a UK based fighter or indeed a major event in Britain in the New Year remains to be seen.

UK MMA has never been as hot as it is right now. The likes of Pimblett, UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall, Lerone Murphy, Leon Edwards and plenty of other big names are all ranked in the top 15 of various weight classes.

There are also fighters who could go on to be major players in UK MMA in the future such as Liverpool’s next star Luke Riley, Arnold Allen and Nathaniel Wood to name but a few.

Whether this pending UFC UK announcement has anything to do with any of the fighters mentioned above remains to be seen.

UFC London Likely For Early In The New Year

With the UFC teasing a major UK fight announcement, it is likely they are set to confirm the next UFC London fight night show for the New Year.

The UFC seems to like heading to London around March time. The last UFC event in London was on March 22 earlier this year, headlined by Leon Edwards vs Sean Brady.

Prior to that, there was a UFC numbered card in Manchester, once again headlined by Edwards. July 2023 saw Tom Aspinall headline a UFC London card, with Edwards again headlining UFC 286 back in March 2023 in his trilogy with Kamaru Usman.

The UFC were also in London in July 2022, March 2022, March 2020 and March 2019. London isn’t always the city the UFC puts shows on in the UK, with several in Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow, Belfast, Nottingham, Birmingham and Newcastle dating back to the early 2000s.

However, London has played host to the most UK UFC events, and is likely to host another major fight card in March 2026, judging by the latest UFC Europe social media tease.

Who Will Headline The Next UFC UK Event?

There are a few possibilities when it comes to who could headline the next UFC Fight Night or numbered card in the UK.

With UFC London likely for the first quarter of 2026, there are a few major names who could feature on the bill.

UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall is of course recovering from his eye injuries following his eye-poke by Ciryl Gane in their no-contest fight at UFC 321 back in October.

Two-division UFC champion and arguably the greatest MMA fighter of all time Jon Jones labelled Aspinall ‘incredibly overrated’, with the Manchester-based fighter potentially the main event of this pending announcement.

That remains to be seen given Aspinall’s current eye state, but it is a possibility that he could rematch Gane as soon as March. Another possible UFC London headliner could be undefeated featherweight contender Lerone Murphy.

Murphy is currently ranked #4 in the 145-pound division, and has his sights firmly set on capturing the UFC Featherweight Title next year. His next fight won’t be for the belt as Alexander Volkanovski vs Diego Lopes 2 is the featherweight title fight, but he could well find himself in a final eliminator.

Aljamain Sterling vs Lerone Murphy was rumoured to be targeted for UFC 325 on January 31, but that fight could well headline the next UFC London card instead.

Arnold Allen already has a major fight announced, so it won’t be him. Leon Edwards is said to be taking time out, with nobody else really a big enough name to headline in their own eight.

The likelihood is that either Aspinall or Murphy will headline the UFC’s next UK event, perhaps at UFC London in March.
