Avery Bradley plays one season with the Longhorns

Growing up, Avery Bradley made multiple moves with his family. One of those stops was in Arlington, Texas, where he watched television and the exciting things happening down the road in Austin at the University of Texas where star guard T.J. Ford led the Longhorns to the Sweet Sixteen and was named Big 12 Freshman of the Year in 2002.

Seven years later Avery Bradley was a freshman at Texas. In his one and only season with the Longhorns, Bradley averaged 11.6 points per game and established himself as one of the nation’s best defensive guards. Like Ford, he earned Big 12 All-Rookie Team and All-Big 12 honors.

In April 2010, Bradley declared for the NBA draft and skipped his final three years of eligibility. Some questioned Bradley’s decision at the time, but he would prove to be right two months later at Madison Square Garden.

Avery Bradley becomes one of best defensive players in NBA

In the 2010 NBA draft, the Boston Celtics selected Avery Bradley with the No. 19 overall pick of the first round. Bradley’s career in Boston started off slowly his first couple of seasons with limited time. In 2012-13, his minutes increased. So did his production.

For the next four seasons in Boston, Bradley averaged better than 14 points per game. Bradley also became known as one of the league’s best perimeter defenders during his time with the Celtics. He was named to the NBA All-Defensive team twice, including a First Team honor in 2015-16.

After 2016-17 and seven seasons in Boston, the Celtics traded Bradley to the Detroit Pistons. The next two seasons Bradley would split time between Detroit, the Los Angeles Clippers, and Memphis Grizzlies. In July 2019, Bradley signed with the LA Lakers. He started 44 games for the club in 2019-20, averaging 8.6 points per game.

What is Avery Bradley’s net worth?

When Avery Bradley signed with the Boston Celtics, his first year’s salary was just over $1.4 million. By the time he left the Celtics in 2016-17, it had ballooned to an impressive $8.2 million.

Bradley’s movement to three different teams from 2017-19 only changed his address, not his salary. Before his move to LA, Bradley split his almost $12 million annual salary between the Pistons and the Clippers. When Bradley signed with the Lakers prior to the start of the 2019-20 season, he agreed to terms on a two-year, $9.7 million deal.

During his almost 10 NBA seasons, Avery Bradley has earned an impressive $57 million in salary. He has an estimated net worth of $8 million

Bradley announced he will not be rejoining the Lakers for the restart of the 2019-20 NBA season in Orlando. He told ESPN he will stay with his wife and three children, including a 6-year-old son with a history of respiratory problems. With that decision, Bradley is projected to lose $650,000 in salary.
