Daniel Jones will face the 2022 New York Giants schedule with one last chance to prove he’s a legitimate NFL starting quarterback. If he does, the G-Men could make noise in the NFC East this season. If he doesn’t, it’s back to the top of the draft to try to find a franchise signal-caller.

The New York Giants did another hard reset this season, bringing in the franchise’s fifth head coach in the last seven campaigns. The former Buffalo Bills brain trust of general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll are now in charge in New Jersey, and they are giving Jones one more chance.

In fact, 2022 likely represents the last chance for a host of Giants brought in during the previous regime. This includes running back Saquon Barkley and wide receiver Kenny Golladay.

The Giants didn’t do all that much in free agency, purging more players than they brought in, and had an up-and-down draft. Even though the late rounds were hit-or0miss for Big Blue, the team crushed its first two picks. Blue-chip prospects Kayvon Thibodeaux (DE, Oregon) and Evan Neal (T, Alabama) should help right away.

The biggest questions of the season will be all about Jones, though. Is he the Giants’ QB of the future? And whether he is or not, did Schoen and Daboll do enough this offseason to at least lay the foundation for a winner down the road?
