The Baltimore Ravens are dealing with a series of injuries to key players, including quarterback Lamar Jackson and defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike.

Ravens Facing Injuries At Major Positions

Following a Week 4 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, the Baltimore Ravens announced a series of injury updates involving several players.

Quarterback Lamar Jackson suffered a hamstring injury in the third quarter of Sunday’s 37-20 loss. Jackson left the game after being sacked by George Karlaftis and did not return.

Cooper Rush finished the game in relief of Jackson.

Harbaugh did not provide an update on Jackson’s ability at Ravens’ practice on Wednesday. However, he did clarify that Jackson could not have returned in Sunday’s game, even if it was close.

“There was no way he could have gone back in the game,” Harbaugh said via Ravens.com.

With the loss to the Chiefs, Jackson is now 1-6 against Mahomes, including the postseason. Jackson finished 14 of 20 for 146 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and a lost fumble.

On the season, Jackson has 860 yards, 10 touchdowns, and one interception.

Rush would start in Jackson’s place if the two-time MVP can’t go.

Jackson is not the only member of the Ravens who received disappointing injury updates.

Before Sunday’s loss, Madubuike was placed on injured reserve with a neck injury. On Monday, Harbaugh announced that Madubuike will not return this season.

Madubike started showing symptoms of a neck injury after the Week 2 win against the Cleveland Browns. Harbaugh did not reveal if the injury is career-threatening.

“A lot of that is things he needs to address with you guys in his time,” Harbaugh said about Madubuike’s injury. “I really can’t speak for him, wouldn’t want to. Those are questions that would be best answered by him going forward.”

Madubuike is a big loss for a struggling Ravens’ defense. Madubuike is two years removed from a 13-sack season. The 27-year-old had two sacks in two games this season.

Ahead of the 2024 season, Madubuike signed a four-year, $98 million contract extension.

Harbaugh previously said Madubuike started suffering symptoms following Baltimore’s Week 2 win against the Cleveland Browns.

Ravens In Unfamiliar Territory

The Ravens entered 2025 with Super Bowl expectations. While the team still has the roster to make a deep playoff run, the early-season record makes things more difficult.

The Ravens are 1-3 with losses against Super Bowl contenders: Buffalo Bills, Detroit Lions, and Kansas City Chiefs.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are first in the AFC North at 3-1, followed by the 2-1 Cincinnati Bengals. The Ravens are in third at 3-1, and the Browns are in last at 1-3.

The Ravens host the Houston Texans (1-2) on Oct. 5.
