NASCAR Xfinity Series IAA and Ritchie Bros. 250 Entry List: Dates, Event Times At Martinsville Speedway

Caught up in a four-wide collision last Saturday at Talladega Superspeedway, NASCAR Xfinity Series driver William Sawalich’s No. 18 Toyota absorbed contact from Connor Mosack’s machine, which spun out of control after being struck in a chain reaction triggered by Leland Honeyman getting turned sideways.

Sawalich, who started the Round of 8 event on the front row, suffered injuries from a hard crash into the outside wall. After getting checked out by medical personnel at the track, the rookie was sent to a Talladega, Ala., area hospital. He was released and returned home the next day.

“Appreciate all the messages and calls. … Finally made it back home from Talladega – a little sore, but feeling better and thankful for all the support,” Sawalich posted on X (Twitter).

After non-playoff driver Austin Hill captured the second of three Round of 8 races, two spots remain for the Nov. 1 Championship 4 race at Phoenix Raceway.

Regular-season champion Connor Zilisch and reigning series champion Justin Allgaier advanced based on playoff points, while Jesse Love sits 40 points above the cutoff line. Rookie Carson Kvapil enters the Round of 8 finale at Martinsville Speedway 11 points above the transition line.
