Layne Riggs remains undefeated this weekend at Martinsville Speedway. The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver laughed Friday when he told Fox Sports: “We won everything so far. We’re doing something right.”
Everything so far, as Riggs declared, was the practice and qualifying sessions for Friday night’s Slim Jim 200. Riggs piloted the No. 34 Ford to a pole position, turning a hot qualifying lap of 97.217 mph, the second-fastest all-time qualifying lap at the 0.526-mile oval.
Riggs said he wasn’t fully satisfied with his two qualifying laps.
This thing is really, really good,” said Riggs, who posted his third pole this season. “This truck has a lot of potential.”
Riggs edged last weekend’s winner Giovanni Ruggiero by 0.031 seconds.

Prospect Landen Lewis Gets NASCAR Truck Series Break
Landen Lewis is on the move.
The reigning zMAX CARS Tour Late Model Stock Series champion agreed to terms with Niece Motorsports to compete part-time on the Truck Series in 2026.
Lewis, a 19-year-old Ocean Isle Beach, N.C. native, grew up racing on regional short tracks, mentored by NASCAR icon Kevin Harvick.
“I’m super excited,” Lews said, per Niece Motorsports PR. “I want to learn about these trucks and build chemistry with the crew. I can’t wait to get there and start working alongside everyone.
En route to the Late Model championship, Lewis visited Victory Lane four times.
Niece Motorsports previously helped launch the careers of Ross Chastain and Carson Hocevar.
“We have always tried to find that next young talent who we think is a future star in our sport,” Niece Motorsports CEO Cody Efaw said. “Landen Lewis is just that.”
