Jake Paul is set to fight Anthony Joshua before the end of 2025. The opening lines have been set, and Paul is a massive underdog.

Paul is taking a giant step up in competition.
Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) and Netflix announced that Paul will fight Joshua on Friday, December 19, at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. Jake vs. Joshua: Judgment Day will be a sanctioned, professional heavyweight fight with eight three-minute rounds while wearing 10-ounce gloves.
Jake vs. Joshua: Judgment Day will stream globally on Netflix. It will be available at no additional cost to Netflix subscribers.
“This isn’t an AI simulation. This is Judgment Day,” Paul said in a press release. “A professional heavyweight fight against an elite world champion in his prime. When I beat Anthony Joshua, every doubt disappears, and no one can deny me the opportunity to fight for a world title. To all my haters, this is what you wanted. To the people of the United Kingdom, I am sorry. On Friday, December 19, under the lights in Miami, live globally only on Netflix, the torch gets passed and Britain’s Goliath gets put to sleep. I KNOWWWW YOU GOT EM PICKED HAHAHHA.”
The Joshua matchup comes after Paul’s fight against Gervonta “Tank” Davis was pulled due to recent domestic violence allegations against the latter.
Paul is 12-1 with seven knockouts. His most recent victory came over Julio César Chávez Jr. via unanimous decision in June.
Joshua is a former WBO, WBA, and IBF heavyweight world champion. Joshua holds a 28-4 record with 25 knockouts. The 36-year-old last fought in September 2024, when he lost by knockout to Daniel Dubois.
Before the Dubois loss, Joshua knocked out Francis Ngannou in March 2024.
