Jake Paul throws a punch.

After his boxing exhibition against Gervonta Davis fell apart, Jake Paul is talking to this former heavyweight champion for his next fight.

Jake Paul’s Next Boxing Match Revealed

Many of Paul’s biggest critics have begged him to fight a “real boxer.” Paul listened and is on the verge of delivering a massive match.

Per Ring Magazine, Paul is finalizing a deal to fight Anthony Joshua in a heavyweight fight in December.

Paul was originally scheduled to fight Davis on November 14 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. However, Davis was removed from the Netflix bout due to recent domestic violence allegations made against him.

In the cancellation announcement, Most Valuable Promotions stated their intention to find Paul another opponent for 2025.

“Our team has worked closely with all parties to navigate this situation responsibly,” Nakisa Bidarian, CEO of Most Valuable Promotions, said in a press release. “While we will not be moving forward with this event, our plan still remains for Jake Paul to headline an event on Netflix in 2025. Details regarding a new date, location, Jake’s opponent, and additional bouts will be shared as soon as they are finalized. We thank Netflix, the Kaseya Center, and the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for their partnership.”

Paul’s team reportedly contacted Francis Ngannou, Andre Ward, Ryan Garcia, and Nate Diaz to replace Davis.

Josha is now the leading candidate to fight Paul next month in Miami on Netflix.

Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua Both Want to Fight Soon

Paul and Joshua are two boxers looking for a fight.

Paul last fought in June, defeating Julio César Chávez Jr. by unanimous decision. The 28-year-old had been actively searching for opponents after Chávez and settled on Davis.

The exhibition fight would have been at a catchweight, since Davis fights at 135 pounds and Paul at 200 pounds.

Paul is looking to build off the momentum of fighting Mike Tyson in November 2024, which set streaming records for a sporting event.

Meanwhile, Joshua last fought in September 2024. Joshua lost to Daniel Dubois via knockout.

Per ESPN, Joshua has been “talking to opponents” for a last-minute fight in 2025.

Yahoo’s Ariel Helwani reached out to Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, to confirm the Paul fight. Hearn admitted that he has spoken to Paul’s team about a fight. However, Hearn said that “nothing is close” and the report is “premature.”
