Jake Paul-Gervonta Davis Fight No Longer Moving Forward

Most Valuable Promotions announced Monday that the fight between Paul and Davis will no longer move forward.

The fight was scheduled for Friday, November 14, at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. Netflix was set to stream the event globally.

“Our team has worked closely with all parties to navigate this situation responsibly,” Nakisa Bidarian, CEO of Most Valuable Promotions, said in a press release. “While we will not be moving forward with this event, our plan still remains for Jake Paul to headline an event on Netflix in 2025. Details regarding a new date, location, Jake’s opponent, and additional bouts will be shared as soon as they are finalized. We thank Netflix, the Kaseya Center, and the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for their partnership.”

The cancellation comes days after Davis’ legal troubles increased. Davis now faces a civil lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend, Courtney Rosse,l for battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Davis has faced several lawsuits over the past few years, including a domestic violence case filed by the mother of two of his three children. That case was dropped in August.

Davis also received a 90-day house arrest and three years of probation for a 2023 hit-and-run case.

The exhibition fight between Paul and Davis would have been a 195-pound catchweight. Paul last fought as a 200-pound cruiserweight, while Davis is the current WBA 135-pound champion.

Paul (12-1, 7 KOs) last fought in June, defeating Julio César Chávez Jr. by unanimous decision. Meanwhile, Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs) last fought in March, where he retained his title in a majority draw against Lamont Roach Jr.
