There is a new favorite when it comes to the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award race. Carolina Panthers first year wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan is now atop the odds board according to DraftKings, overtaking both Jaxson Dart and Emeka Egbuka in recent weeks to claim the top spot.
McMillan Now The Favorite To Win NFL OROY Award
McMillan, taken eighth overall in the 2025 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers, has quickly validated his first-round pedigree. As of Week 12, he leads all rookies with 56 receptions for 783 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns. That production comes alongside the fact that he has become the Panthers’ go-to target, as he leads the club in targets, receptions, yards, and touchdowns. His steady accumulation of volume, plus flashes of big-play ability downfield, have turned McMillan into the betting favorite, with current odds of +120.
Tetairoa McMillan over the past month, per @FantasyPtsData:
+ 29.8% target share (6th in NFL)
+ 36.1% 1st read target share (8th)
+ 39.5% of team's receiving yards (3rd)
+ 15.9% 1st downs per route rate (3rd)Baller. Just needed some passing volume for a breakout performance.

Egbuka has been up and down the odds board so far this year, but has spent plenty of time as the favorite over the first 12 weeks of the 2025 NFL season. Selected 19th overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he is currently listed at +250. He’s hauled in 48 catches for 749 yards and 6 touchdowns through 11 games. That touchdown total, which actually leads among most rookies, plus his yardage puts him well within striking distance of McMillan.
Can Jaxson Dart Make A Late-Season Case?
But the wild card remains Jaxson Dart, a quarterback in his rookie season with the New York Giants. While top WR production is sexy, history shows that QBs often carry the offensive residue: QBs have taken home the ROY seven of the last 10 seasons.
Dart has already shown dual-threat capability this season. Through roughly nine games, he’s thrown for 1,427 yards with a 10–3 TD–INT ratio and added 317 yards and 7 rushing touchdowns.

If the Giants are able to rack up a couple of wins down the home stretch of the NFL season, voters may lean toward rewarding the added complexity of his quarterback play over raw receiving numbers. Dart shot up the boards to the top spot when he was named the starter back in Week 4, but recent injuries have caused him to miss games and his betting designation to slip slightly.
According to reports, Dart will be returning from concussion protocol this week when the Giants take on the Patriots on Monday night.
