The new-look Buffalo Bills’ leadership team received a nod and a pat on the back.
Despite replacing their head coach and top two coordinators, BetOnline Sportsbook tabbed the Bills (+900) as the favorite to capture Super Bowl LXI at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif. The Seattle Seahawks remain favored to win Super Bowl LX.
The Bills (12-5), who placed second in the AFC East, fell to the Denver Broncos in the divisional round, prompting organizational changes.
Out went coach Sean McDermott and defensive coordinator Bobby Babich, among others.
In came coach Joe Brady, who was promoted, offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael and defensive coordinator Jim Leonard, with more certainly en route.
The early moves were enough for BetOnline to tab the Bills with the top odds to win next season’s Super Bowl. The Los Angeles Rams, who have quarterback Matthew Stafford under contract for one more season, drew the second-best odds at +1000.
Oddsmakers believe Bills quarterback Josh Allen, who revealed he played the final month with a broken foot, will heal after undergoing surgery on his fifth metatarsal avulsion and enduring an eight-to-10 week recovery. He said he aggravated the injury during a Week 16 win over the Cleveland Browns.
Allen said he expects to thrive with Brady, his former offensive coordinator, taking over the top job. He called McDermott’s firing as “very emotional,” as reported by CBS Sports.
“He’s going to continue to keep working hard and trying to find ways for our team to be put in successful positions,” Allen said. “And he’s very much driven by that.”
