Bruno Fernandes is expected to stay at Manchester United despite rumours of a mass team exodus this summer.

Fresh speculation around the future of their current team has suggested that most of the team will be available for transfer in the coming months.

Only Rasmus Hojlund, Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho are said to be off-limits – yet a complete first-team overhaul is risky and unlikely.

United are in a situation whereby almost every player is potentially attainable but that does not mean their transfer value would be met by interested clubs. And United are looking for sales that would primarily boost the additions they could then make.

One of the most high-profile exits that could open up would be Fernandes and it may indeed turn out he does not have a long-term future at United, as they are clearly on a mission to focus on young talent for the future.

Yet with Casemiro, 32, and Raphael Varane, 31, almost certain to leave, Fernandes would be one of the senior players for next season.

£75m Price Tag For Bruno Fernandes

If a huge bid was to land United could consider it but sources around the club believe United’s price-tag on Fernandes would be upwards of £75million and that number, combined with the fact there is no desire on the player side for a transfer to happen, makes a move unlikely.

He is considered to be one of the best signings since the Sir Alex Ferguson era and is contracted to the club until 2026 – with the option of a further year.

Fernandes turns 30 this year and it is believed he is likely to stay on as one of the experienced players in the set-up, at a time when the club’s philosophy is changing.

Harry Maguire, 31, is available to move on and so is 32-year-old Christian Eriksen. But Fernandes, along with 29-year-old Victor Lindelof, are likely to get more of a chance to stay on.

Elsewhere United are expected to keep hold of Marcus Rashford but would entertain offers for Jadon Sancho, Donny van de Beek, Mason Greenwood, Antony and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Wan-Bissaka is wanted by a couple of clubs in Italy and Man United have started to look into new signings at right back, including Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong.
