Golf fans, rejoice, for Masters week is finally here.

The best golfers in the world will congregate at the iconic Augusta National Golf Club this weekend for the first major championship of 2023, and there’s no shortage of juicy storylines to follow in the upcoming race for the green jacket. We’ll be covering those storylines all week here at Sportscasting, but first, let’s get a feel for the tournament by checking out the betting odds for each player to win.

The question isn’t which player is favored to win the 2023 Masters — it’s which players are favored to win the green jacket this year.

According to FanDuel, World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and World No. 2 Rory McIlroy are the co-favorites to win the Masters at +750 odds. World No. 3 Jon Rahm is right behind them at +950, then there’s a sizeable gap between the big three and the rest of the field.

It’s no surprise to see Scheffler and McIlroy at the top of the odds board. Scheffler has two wins and four top-five finishes in his last five starts, while McIlroy has finished third or better in two of his last three starts. I’m a bit surprised that Scheffler, the hottest player in the world and the reigning Masters champion, isn’t the favorite by himself, but oddsmakers must believe McIlroy has a strong chance to complete the career Grand Slam this year.
