With a trip to the Championship 4 race already clinched, NASCAR Xfinity Series regular-season champion Connor Zilisch can focus on one thing during Saturday’s Round of 8 finale at Martinsville Speedway: gaining win No. 11.
Zilisch (-155) remains the overwhelming favorite to capture the 2025 drivers’ championship, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. Reigning series champion Justin Allgaier also advanced and carries the second-best odds at +220.
With his NASCAR rise continuing at a rapid pace, Zilisch’s international plans are currently stalled. After announcing his and Austin Cindric’s intentions to compete in a SuperCars championship event, the 2025 bp Adelaide Grand Final, Zilisch confirmed to The Daily Express that his travels are “on hold for now.”
The 19-year-old pilot does intend to test his skills against Australia’s premier touring-car drivers in the near future.
“It won’t happen this year, but hopefully down the road, I want to make something like that happen,” he said.
The top five streak comes to an end for Connor Zilisch at Talladega, lasting a record breaking 18-straight races.
