Fake Report Regarding Steelers Inquiring About Trading For QB Trevor Lawrence

Trevor Lawrence was the first overall draft pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. He has led the Jacksonville Jaguars to a division title and the postseason once in four years.
Lawrence came out of College with a lot of promise but has yet to reach his full potential with the Jags.
His best season came in 2022, his second season when he led the Jags to an AFC South title and a postseason appearance. However, he only played in 10 games last year after suffering a season-ending shoulder injury.
Ryan Burr, of Big Ten Network, had Steelers fans in a frenzy after posting on X that the Steelers have made inquiries about a trade for QB Trevor Lawrence. He said this came directly from the horse’s mouth in the Jags organization.

He continued with a follow-up post saying the Steelers would deal this year’s first and second-round draft pick but with the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh, he would be surprised if next year’s first-round draft pick is on the table.
Steelers would deal this years #1 & #2, but with draft in Pittsburgh next year I would be very surprised if next years #1 is even on the table. https://t.co/g7VswZYwOn

Fake Report Regarding The Steelers & Trevor Lawrence Gets Shut Down
After Ryan Burr stated the Steelers inquired about Trevor Lawrence, many reporters from different companies refuted the report.
Mark Kaboly, Steelers correspondent for the Pat McAfee Show, posted on X that the Steelers in no way imaginable inquired about trading for Trevor Lawrence and have no interest in reaching out to the Jags about acquiring Lawrence, according to a source.

Why This Report Had No Merit
Jacksonville does not even have a General Manager. There would be nobody to call or execute this trade.
Liam Coen recently took the Jaguars’ head coaching job to be paired with Lawrence.
Teams do not trade away a young franchise-caliber starting QB entering their prime years.
It is the time of year when many fake rumors and reports surface, but this one made no sense from the start.
